Quite an enjoyable read; would have been more so if he hadn't kept maundering on about his relationships with his wife and kids while he was (not for the first time) deliberately living far from them for five months at a time, and in rather dangerous places, too. He was already living separately from his wife at the time he was doing the traveling for this book. He makes it sound as though he's going to go home and try to start anew, but never tells us how that turned out. My opinion: If she took him back she needs a psychiatric evaluation.

A great example of Woody Allen's absurd sense of humor that you don't see much in his later films. It's self-indulgent and weird, but it's also really interesting to kind of get inside his creative engine.

It's good. It's gruesome and noir and has snappy dialogue and follows detectives solving murders and breaking communist-era unions in LA. Pretty bad-ass, not as good as Black Dahlia.

The story centers around journalist Jayne Tate. After Jayne's father dies, her boss sends her on a mandatory vacation in which she pursues an idea for a story about the Amish community. Finding a Amish carpenter in the phone book, Jayne enlists the help of Levi Burkholder. She stays with his family and learns not only about the Amish, but also about herself. This is both a coming of age story and a sweet romance. It is a quick and fun read, with likable characters. I would recommend this to fans of light romances and Amish fiction.

This is the most amazing murder mystery I've ever read! There are so many twists and turns, right up to the end! You finally find out 'who done it' and then you get the rug whipped out from under you yet again! I can't recommend this book enough!
