I was sorry to see it was nearly over. But I'm not sure why. I am hoping there are many more in the series.

Another great book to a great series. I loved every bit of it. It was interesting, surprising and really amazing. I love the twist on Vampirism and all of the thoughts that go with it. It is interesting to find that some characters might be horrid at some points but great at others. This series is definitely a fun one which keeps from the "same old, same old" stories on Vampires.

Hmmmm. I feel...unsettled. Yes, I was WELL aware that Hamlet is a tragedy before I began reading. I love the play, as bizarre as it is to love a massacre. So the ending was not altogether surprising and the plot was nothing new. But Ophelia? New. Not sure I liked her. Not sure I disliked her. Just not sure. There were moments of brilliant writing and moments (maybe too many) of chunky, whiplash writing. You know...the kind that doesn't flow that forces on to re-read. I don't know... Entertaining. New and different (though a very old tale). So...three stars to thee, Hamlet.
the best of the 3...review to come.
This took a lot of concentration and wasn't quite the introduction I was looking for. But it still had a lot of useful information and helped shed light on the topic.

This is the cookbook I probably use most often. Marcella's recipes, for as intimidating as they may sound (risotti, stuffed squid, spinach and ricotta gnocchi, carciofi alla romana, etc.) are all authentic, easy to follow, and turn out properly every single time. Furthermore, there's lots of great information about ingredients (and how to select the best and freshest), history and culture as relates to ingredients and dishes, and overall good, sound cooking common-sense. She is occasionally more of a purist than I am, but isn't that the kind of teacher you'd like to rebel against from time to time? I've made this chicken marsala recipe a thousand times, so that I've got it memorized, and people go bonkers for it every single time.
A very interesting book - I needed to keep my computer close at hand a lot of the places described I had heard of but didn't really know where they were. In my youth, it was all Soviet Russia so I had some catching up to do. So well worth reading if for no other reason than I learned a ton.
The ending was upsetting to me (as the reader). I feel as though problems were not solved. There is really not true ending to the book because everything is kind of just left there in the open... I still have a longing to figure out what is to happen in the book. What will happen to the little tyke Jo? Will Kira find true answers, or make a change?
I have some very fond memories of this museum, which was what originally attracted me to the book. But even if you haven't been to the Gardner (and I encourage you to visit), you might like this book. It's got it all -- intrigue, art heist, gangsters, quirky art investigators. Settle down with a cup of tea or a glass of wine and enjoy!
