I thought it was great! Sarah Kuttner's last book - which only contained a collection of her essays - didn't appeal to me much but this one was a novel and Sarah Kuttner did a fantastic job on it. It deals with depression, a very sensitive subject that she managed to describe perfectly and realistically. It's scary how well I could relate to the main character Caro most of the time, like she had found the perfect words to describe the insides of my mind. The story is told in a very light, often funny way without mocking the subject itself. I had to laugh out loud several times but also felt touched by the emotional moments. Towards the end when all the talk about Christmas starts the book loses some of its fast pace and fascination, it gets better towards the end again though. Some shortening would've been wise here I guess. Sarah Kuttner reads the audiobook herself which is great because I doubt that anybody could've done a better job on it than her.

Another classic book from Chelsea Handler! Hilarious!
Yep, Nora did it again. This book was great. Everything was there. Great dialoge, wonderful characters, real emotions, and HEA. It sucked me in, and made me want more.

Sorry, really wanted to like this one but it was just too scattered. Seemed to want to be a lot of things rolled into one. Thought from the title it would be more of the author's experience during the attack (which it was to a point). Jumps from 2005 to the attack back to another time and then again to various points throughout the author's life. Different than the title suggests. Free book on Kindle and just not what I thought it would be.

Okay, I'll be honest here. I like more color in my books, and I tend to not really like bedtime stories. I don't remember ever being read Goodnight Moon, and I read it now and am not super impressed. I am impressed with the scratchboard illustrations, but if I were picking the best picture book of the year, I would have gone with something with more color, and a livelier story.

This book has the potential to distract you from whatever rotten stuff you're living through. Wow.

I wasn't familiar with Scottoline's work. Therefore, I wasn't expecting this to have a mystery/suspense aspect to it. That was a welcome surprise. I think with the subject matter, the book could get a little heavy and depressing if it were only about Ellen Gleeson pondering giving up her son. The book reads fast. I flew through the last 100 pages. Scottoline doesn't dwell. Sometimes I felt that some events were resolved too quickly, though. I was glad to see that all ends were tied up nicely at the end. I also enjoyed the romance between Ellen and Marcello. I'm usually not a big fan of romance, but I found myself cheering for them. I have other comments, but they are spoilers. So, I'll save them for a discussion. I enjoyed the book and will read others by this author.
