I have a poster featured in this book. Cool, huh?

Best collection of short stories I've read in years by one of the few newfangled "Indian diaspora writers" I admire. (I'm Indian; relax.)
Despite its witty title and promising storyline, the book was really disappointing. In fact, it was god-awful and I felt like I'd wasted several hours of my life that I'd never get back. Indeed, "national bestseller" status hardly guarantees a good book. The movie, on the other hand, was surprisingly good, largely due to Meryl Streep's phenomenal performance as Miranda, but this is a book review and not a film review so I'll stop here.

Loved it!!! Another great installment in this Quartet! Laurel is the most prickly of the friends, she has a quick temper and also a quick wit. I found her to be very strong and her clashes with Del were great. Del is just so sweet and generous and selfless! I did love their story and I cannot wait to read the next book in the series, Parker's story, but the sad part is I will then be done with this lovely series!

You can pretty much bypass the first 200 pages or so. Its only the last 20 pages or so that are worth actually reading. Thank goodness this is a short read.
It was very instering. Atleast i found it cool... It crosses with myths from greek and still from an average boy. p.s. Grover rocks p.s.s. Annabeth sounds hot p.s.s.s. percy is awsome
Bloom was probably the best book I've read in a really long time.
Um...hmmm...well, there were time when I felt like this book was whiny and indulgent, but for the most part - as a reader - I felt adopted. I couldn't get connected this book - at all. And in 239 pages (very short) the story barely skimmed the surface the entire time. The most in-depth part was her electronic search on the internet and even then I couldn't figure out why anyone would want to read about that. I was like "And? Who cares!" the whole time. It was like she published her diary. Weird.
this book is insane!! in a good way. It is so good, and teaches you so many morals, and I couldn't stop crying through half of it. For my journals for English, because this book was so good, the journals got so personal, and wow...this book is really good. If you read "A Child Called It," you should definitely read "A Brother's Journey," because its David's younger brother's story. Seriously, READ THIS BOOK!! Such a touching book.
