I wanted to like this. And I had been wanting to read this for a long time. But it was not well argued. It was not well thought out and did not respect trans people. My understanding Leslie Feinber is the zhe likes to be refered to as zhe or hir, not she or him. Drove me crazy. Oh well, much better books out there than this one.

This author has never disappointed me. His Doc Ford novels grab hold in the first chapter and never let go. When I first started reading Dead Silence, I thought Mr. White might have become bored with his protagonist, but I guess he was just baiting the reader because this is one of his best books in my opinion. I agree with the South Florida Sun-Sentinel's review: A thriller that doesn't stop for a breath until the last sentence.

i don't know why but i really did not like this book, which was disappointing as i usually really like walker's work. something just didn't click with me.

One of my first thrillers! Gripping tale of boarding school, bullying and boys. And a touch of spookiness too. Finished it in 3 days and was thinking about it while i wasn't reading it. The hallmark of a gripping read, i guess!

i am basing my rating on the little recollection i have of reading goodnight, mr. tom in elementary school. it was the first book to make me cry. and i made a pretty kick-ass diorama on it as well.

This was okay. Could have been better but the ending was a bit of a mess.

This book changed the way I look at the world.
I couldn't find one on here published earlier, but I read this way back in high school.

After going on a huge Philippa Gregory tear awhile back (The Other Boleyn Girl, The Constant Princess etc.) I was excited to read another book of hers. This one was not nearly as interesting as the other books I had read but it did pass the time. Set in 17th century England the main character is an incredible gardener for the wealthy and titled. The story focuses on his role and relationships with the royalty.
