Pretty interesting story...Dante had a very vivid imagination.

The book offers a slower start than I anticipated but I really the way the characters are pulled from the pages. What a great concept...except...what the? Why am I so close to the end and yet still so far from understanding what's going on...??? Guess its like life in that way.

Beautiful, beautiful book. Wurlitzer and his wife end up in southeast Asia, almost immediately after the death of their 21-year-old son. On the trip, Wurlitzer comes to understand Dharma concepts at an emotional and spiritual level, rather than purely intellectually. He uses lots of quotes to support his transformation, but nothing is used in a self-consciously academic way. He's not trying to prove anything to anyone -- instead he seems to finally understand what it all means.

لا أزال مسكونًا بهذا الكتاب. ولن أكتب شيئًا نظرًا لكوني أعتبر كتب جبران شيء حميمي شخصي خارج النقد.

Freud's father was 20 years older than his mother and Freud, as a child, thought his mother should be married to his uncle. I've only read ten pages so far but I am hoping to get through the rest soon.

I enjoyed this book and felt for the character Daisy. I felt she was the lost child in this book and was happy with the ending for her.
Epic, intellectual and weirdly gripping...and as far as rehab narratives/drunk lit goes, it's genius. Actually, it's just genius, period. I didn't want to think so, but I do. David Foster Wallace could beat the shit out of Dave Eggers in a caged literary death match anytime.

This book was hard to put down!! It was a little hard to follow at times because of the Chinese back ground and names.
