Although I was familiar with play through reading it in high school and seeing the movie version, I didn't really love it until I actually saw it on the stage when I was in college. I had to write an essay about it and got so much out of that process and the way it was staged, how lighting was used, etc. So while I recommend the reading of it because it is good anyway, if you have the opportunity to see it on stage, you should!

The book is told from a 5-year-old-girl's point of view,Scout Finch, whose adventures are accompanied by her elder brother,Jem. Along their journeys, the story is followed by the wrong accusation of a black slave, while their wise and kind father,Atticus, tries desperately to get hold of it and have it all clear. you can feel love, friendship, trust and hope along with the characters in this story. I really loved it and the characters, especially Scout.they're so real and lovely!

Whether or not this book is suited to children is highly questionable in my mind. I had my kids skip parts. I really related to Harry's waxing and waning popularity. Rowling's handling of the press and Harry's general popularity was quite astute. Squeaky Clean? - Bad language sprinkled throughout, black magic involving some things that are included in actual satanic rituals.

I have to say that I liked this book way more than I thought I would. I couldn't put this book down. I really felt for the characters and was rooting for them and mourning with them and generally just got sucked into the story. There were alot of small details that could have used more explaining but if you looked over them the story still flowed well and wasn't missing anything. I highly recommend this book to those who like sci fi/fantasy, intrigue and something that is suspensful. I was afraid this book would be predictable but it was far from it. There were many unpredictable twists but none were so extreme as to be unbelievable. It is rare to find a book of this type that isn't predictable and can keep my attention but this book was a true page turner and if you decide to read it, start it on a weekend that you don't have much to do because you won't be able to put it down.

I read this long before it was a movie. Actually, I don't think I have seen the movie. The story touches me in a different way each time I read it. One element of the story that always stands out is the love that the old doctor had for Homer, and his inability to show it. "Good night my Princes of Maine."
Loved this series! Emma and Jack were so crazy for each other!

from the right to die, to sterilization, to forced slavery, this book basically provides the historic and modern context for a few land-mark civil rights cases and the closing arguments defending those liberties. i would definitely recommend this book to law students, but generally to anyone who has a passion for justice....
