I really wanted to like this book. After reading Matched, I had high hopes. But I was disappointed. I felt that Delirium focuses more on the society and it's problems than on the main character and her story. When I finished the book, I was kind of let down. But the more I thought about it, the more I liked it. It is definitely the kind of book that sticks with you, weather you like it or not. I will probably read the sequel, but it didn't make me rush out and pre-order it. This book was kind of hit or miss for me.

It's an odd book. It starts out like a John Grisham style legal book then branches off into Dan Brown country. I liked it, but I don't know why. :-)

Amazon.com Review In Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel's memoir Night, a scholarly, pious teenager is wracked with guilt at having survived the horror of the Holocaust and the genocidal campaign that consumed his family. His memories of the nightmare world of the death camps present him with an intolerable question: how can the God he once so fervently believed in have allowed these monstrous events to occur? There are no easy answers in this harrowing book, which probes life's essential riddles with the lucid anguish only great literature achieves. It marks the crucial first step in Wiesel's lifelong project to bear witness for those who died. I listened to this on audio book. I found myself driving along to...work, to the grocery the store, wherever, and I would arrive at my destination with tears running down my face. I had to keep stopping the story to process what I was hearing and really think about the experiences the author lived through. It's amazing that anyone survived the concentration camps. I'm not sure I would have had the will to continue, the desire to persevere the way he and so many others did, in the face of such horrible physical and emotional hardships. It's one of those books that everyone should read.

Good vacation book
Leo, Julia, Jane and Max want different things in life, but one thing is for sure - they all want to ace the SATs. After they walk out of a crappy SAT prep class, they begin to meet regularly at Jane's house to study together. Their regular study group brings this unlikely group together - until after the SAT, when a senior high scorer confesses that someone paid her to take the test for them. Suspicions and accusations fly, drawing lines between fragile friendships. And meanwhile, everyone wants to know - who is the cheater? Told in the four voices of the four teens, this book is a fascinating teen mystery with strong voices and interesting characters, on very relevant teen issue. The stresses of the SATs and scholarships and college admission will be familiar to anyone who has ever been in high school.
Bourdain is his usual wry & frank self in "A Cook's Tour". This book is a blend of food and travel writing that's a companion to his former Food Network show of the same name. "Cook's Tour" is a series of essays where each one finds Bourdain in a different location trying a different dish.

I only read b/c I heard Edward Norton was going to be in the movie. Then he wasn't. The movie, with John Cusack was much better than the book
I enjoyed the characters and premise of this book. Enjoyable
This book was a riot! I'd recommend this book for anyone who is dating or has dated disaterously in the past. Maria gladly takes the punches for all of us who would like to throw caution to the wind and find out what it would be like if we said yes instead of no to everyone we met.
