I am dipping my toes into this at random intervals—i.e., when I'm feeling particularly masochistic—and seeing what, from a very amateur layman-explorer point-of-view, I can make of this infamous beast.* Being familiar with Macquarrie from his exploration of Existentialism, I have decided to stick with the original translation—and copious footnotes—he concocted in partnership with Edward Robinson. I have a PDF copy of the recent Stambaugh revisionist translation (which does seem to flow fairly smoothly against the rocks of Dasein and Befindlichkeit) which I plan to use in comparison with the MQ&R trailblazer to see if I can take more out of it than Ich nicht verstehe and Gut Arglebargle!**. I've been intrigued by the ideas—in the limited comprehension for such of which I am currently able—I've encountered during my forays into Heidegger's Basic Writings , if not so much the language through which I must toil to untangle them—but I fully expect B&T to be a crunchy headslog at a whole different level of ouch. *The early screening consensus? Sweet fuck all. **Taken out so far? Confirmation that I'm a moron.

I was torn in what rating to give this book. I felt that by liking the book I may be in some way expressing "like" for the horrific events that took place. I know this is not the case, but I couldn't help the way I felt. This memoir truly touched my heart and I shed many tears before I reached the end. After careful consideration, and a lot of inner debate, I confidently say that my rating is reflective of my feelings for the survivor Jaycee Lee Duggard proved to be, both as a child, and even more as an adult. This memoir is a testament to her strength and perseverance and that is what I liked most. Disclaimer: Although I recommend this memoir, I do not recommend it to those who are fainthearted. It was difficult to get through some parts of this book, especially being a parent, woman, wife, and mother.

This was really good but also quite sad. I really enjoyed learning more about China in the early 20th century.
So much better than the movie.

Picture book by great YA author. Come on, wild boars - no one could pass that up!
I liked the book but I felt I liked it because I like The Giver. I already knew the story. But it was still fun to read and I look forward to the next books.

I almost want to explain how it was that I picked this up, but ... Then writing is not very good, but the story is fascinating like a train wreck.
This was one of my favorites of this series so far. The characters in these books are so sweet and lovable. There were a few new characters introduced in this book that I am excited to read more about. These are not really mystery books, but they are such fun, laid back reads. I highly recommend the whole series if you enjoy gentle, relaxing books once in a while:)

I enjoyed learning a little more about Reachers past and the reasons behind his leaving the army .After 16 books while we feel we know Reacher quite well there is still much to learn about him .I found this book especially readable and the plot not at all predictable making it yet another very enjoyable Reacher read .
