It's not often I give up on a book but perhaps unsurprisingly I had to admit defeat when it came to this War and Peace epic on Coleen's five or so years of vicarious fame so far, and her burgeoning career as a - erm - 'Closer' columnist/style guru. I have a suspicion she's not quite got to grips with the offside rule yet, but she does have lots of handy fashion tips, highlighted in pink of course.

Cute, but not really my kind of story. It seemed a little too much like: "My perfect boyfriend wouldn't sleep with me, so I found a boy who would." I know that's not really what it was about, but I felt like it was saying that it is impossible to have a high school relationship that was not built on sex, or at least including sex. (which, I, obviously, don't agree with.)

it was about a young girl who goes to fourth grade she doesn't have any friends. her best friend moved away all across the world to stay and never come back. she thought that she was very guilty for being mean to a new girl and she was not a very good friend. so she said sorry to that girl and she didn't mean for it to go that way.

deep book- about a jewish boy and his travels in Naziland. Great read. I love the style- biography or non-fiction. Amazon.com Many writers have portrayed the cruelty people inflict upon each other in the name of war or ideology or garden-variety hate, but few books will surpass Kosinski's first novel, The Painted Bird, for the sheer creepiness in its savagery. The story follows an abandoned young boy who wanders alone through the frozen bogs and broken towns of Eastern Europe during and after World War II, trying to survive. His experiences and actions occur at and beyond the limits of what might be called humanity, but Kosinski never averts his eyes, nor allows us to.

A refreshing read. A book I guessed at and was very happy I did. A story about what happened to a man in the ad business and lost his job , home and the love of his life. It does have a happy ending and will inspire you. Please read.

I spent many, many hours of my youth reading Baby-Sitter's Club books. This is the one that started it all. Great series, I would like to read it again for kicks.

I don't think a one or two sentence review will suffice for this book - this is the sort of thing you could do an entire dissertation on. Art, Religion, Eastern mysticism, Western self-centrism and self-determination, the role of the artist in religion, in politics and in the building and falling of empires, a hefty dose of historical education...it's a dense, educational but really entertaining murder mystery.

Read this book because of Topsy's recommendation on Good Reads. Loved it. Had a new respect for librarians. Learned much about Sarajevo and the Haggadah.

This was one of the books in my GR's book of the month in March 2011. I read this and honestly, it shows a bad side of BDSM that I'm not thrilled with...at all. It comes across as those in the BDSM are callous sociopaths who can easily kill a person w/o a problem. It perverts and twists a lifestyle into a horrible lie. I'm very disappointed in this book and don't recommend it to anyone. I would like to point out, Ms. Reese possesses an excellent writing style. She also wrote a very good mystery story. As a writer, this book would receive great reviews. She is an excellent story teller and her sex scenes would have been fine, had she not twisted it up with a murderer. I feel dirty after reading this book. Ms. Reese takes the BDSM lifestyle and perverts it into a demonic sadistic sham for Vanilla people to nod their heads and say, "I KNEW these people were mentally ill. Look at this. This is so wrong." The sense of unease after reading this book is so great, I want to wipe it from my mind. I would like to state, none of the humiliation or sex acts bothered me. Even the bestiality was fine. It's how Ms. Reese made it dirty and disgusting which caused me to be disappointed and ill at ease. I will not be reading anymore of Ms. Reese's books. I see her second one is yet another distortion and misrepresentation of the BDSM lifestyle. I do not recommend this book to anyone.
