Hilarius memories and essays from the always-on David Sedaris. Just picture him wearing a colostomy bag (for fun!) or taking care of a spider in provincial France (even taking the local spider for a train ride...) and you will begin to understand the joyous awesomeness that is David Sedaris.

This book is awful. One might presumptuously suppose that a book entitled Economics: A Very Short Introduction encompasses a concise introduction to the field of economics. Nothing could be further from the truth. While the author ambles through a few pertinent paragraphs in the first half of the book, the second half is almost completely divorced from the subject matter. While many worthwhile topics are discussed in Partha's confused narrative, they seem more of a reflection of what the author wants to talk about rather than what the book is supposed to be about. Why, for example, are the last six pages of the book devoted to a discussion of voting methods? And why does 90% of the book have nothing to do with economics? The abysmal quality of this book reflects poorly not just on the author but on this series as a whole. What editor could look at this and fail to notice the discrepancy between the actual subject matter and the title? No one should waste what little time it takes to read this 160 page failure. Overall it's an awful, awful book and a very poor reflection on the Very Short Introductions series.

You have to read this book. It is possibly one of the best books I have ever read. It is a really hard read, obviously since it is about the Holocaust. Your heart will be ripped out, but it's worth it to know about what happened in 1942. Though fictional characters and situations, the main event of the Vel d'Hiv roundup is true. The author switches back and forth between Sarah's point of view in 1942 and a present-day journalist who is somehow tied to Sarah. Be warned that there are situations dealing with children that will be very hard to read and images that are traumatic to imagine, especially if you have young children. This also came out as a movie this summer in select theaters. I will definitely be seeing that when it comes out on DVD.

I loved this book. Wally Lamb's character development and story telling is brillant. The end came abrubtly, but for the first 700 pages I could not put it down.

“It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” – Dumbledore "Scars can come in useful. I have one myself above my left knee which is a perfect map of the London Underground." Albus Dumbledore - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone,
Book two is what looks like a series that lasts 8 or 9 books long. Love that! I like a long series, it's fun stuff. Once again, it follows the ex-best friends who are harassed by "A". Who is A? I recommend for fun reading.

I think this book was boring. When I chose to read this book because it had people dressed up for playing football on the cover, I obviously chose it so I could read about some football. Not some stupid town. I bet 15 precent of the book was football, it should be a lot more if they have a picture of people playing football on the cover. This book was boring and had a lot boring fluffffff

I would categorize Kerrelyn Sparks' latest paranormal in her vampire series, "Secret Life of a Vampire" as one of the sweeter, yet still hot, in this whole series. Her hero is more Gamma than Alpha, her heroine is an ex-beauty queen turned cop, and there's not much blood spilled unless it comes from a glass. The vampires in this series are divided into two camps; Malcontents who want to rule the world and feed from humans at will, and the good vamps who feed off bottled blood and battle the Malcontents. Even though this same good vamps vs bad vamps has been done over and over, Sparks adds enough twists to distinguish her series from the rest. Her good vamps have their own 'Black Pages', their own Vamp Network cable TV station, and their own Vampire Fusion Cuisine. This story begins at a wild vamp bachelor party that gets raided by a pair of cops due to the noise of the bagpipes. Yes, I said bagpipes. The humor in this series isn't just in the dialogue. I mean kilt wearing, sword-bearing, sexy vampires in New York City? Be still my heart. Anyway, my enjoyment of this series is its refusal to bow to the popularity of the more serious and darker vein (couldn't resist) of stories that currently abound. Fun and funny, sweet yet with enough heat to satisfy most romance readers, I confess to being hooked.
This one was just alright.
