As a Mom my conscience dictated that I subtract 1 whole star for "content" ie.sex, drugs, under-age drinking etc. The story was very masterfully woven in a way that though the polar opposite of my high-school days (remembered with sanitized? fondness) felt authentic.

very different from other cozy mysteries. My biggest problem was the "wine" factor of the main character, "why me...". Otherwise very interesting and well written - and the main character is a librarian.

I've read this book a few times over a few years and have decided that it isn't really worthwhile, not for me. The book is like a fortune teller who speaks of generalities and so broadly the text means anything and nothing. I have read different translations and in all the artwork is wonderful, simple. The messages are not always. In the better translations there is more of a sense of the poetic. To purchase this book you should definitely look for one of the more poetic versions.

i enjoyed this story. (it wasn't what i thought it was going to be though. i thought it was going to be about the fourth friend from her other three books.) ms. poppen, i have to say has been a delight to read because out of the many regenacy romances i have read her books still managed to introduce me to many new vocabulary. i can't wait for her next book!!

I absolutely love this author, even though its been awhile since I've read this story, I've gone on to read nearly ten other vonnegut books, and loved them all. He has a great blend of cycicism, and dry wit humor, and absurd plotlines.
