This is the first Iris Johansen novel I've ever read. The story was okay but felt this author lacked something? Couldn't quite put my finger on it. I consider this more "serious" than traditional chick lit, but filled a similar reading need for me. I was a little stunned by the ending, but not turned off by it. I also wasn't bothered by her writing style, once I got used to it.
