This is such a true and ironic portrait of college life and all the activity "under the ant hill" - so great!

Interesting to track the influence of Yoko Ono throughout Lennon's life in this period.

I enjoyed this much more than I had Bridget Jones's Diary. The main character was actually likable, which I had not found Bridget, and there was a well-fleshed out plot. My main problem with her other books is that they're far too shallow and made me wishing for something more substantial--which this was. Heartily enjoyable.
I went into this book having NO CLUE what its background was. As such, I was completely surprised and charmed by the ending. ###

Being Cassandra Clare's book, i loved it before it even came out. The first book in the infernal devices series was just as good as the mortal instruments. i love the strong female characters in both series. can't wait for the next one :D

It's so hard to believe that this is her history. Goes to show you that when you meet a person, you just can't guess on their pasts, because trials make some people stronger and some people crazy. I'm glad for Janette Walls that the latter part of her life has been friendlier to her stomach.

Horn is not subtle about making a point about the irony of Jews in the Confederacy during the Civil War. One of the opening scenes is of a Passover seder celebrating the liberation of Jews from bondage in Egypt being served by black slaves. And although I certainly know more now than I did before about Jews in the Civil War, what I really took from this book was just a good, well-told story.

This was an ok exploration of the background story of one of the very minor characters in Ms. Meyer's Eclipse book. As Ms. Meyer says herself, "The closer I got to the inevitable end, the more I wished I'd concluded Eclipse just slightly differently." I would have liked to have seen a different ending for Bree, as well. I wish she could have been mentored by the Cullens, or allowed to join Fred. I can see, however, that letting loose that kind of feasting on the world would be immoral... Why am I reading these books? Thank goodness this is the last one! Now on to better literature!
This one took a little bit for me to get into. Once I started getting the hang of the lingo and understanding what in the heck she was talking about I liked it. Unfortunately the ending was blown for me so I was just waiting for that to happen, which made me mad that I knew. I am interested to see where this goes in the next couple books.
