I won this book as a goodreads giveaway. I found this book both fascinating and terrifying (I guess it's good I read this in October). This book is very well written. It gives you a taste of the history of Jonestown through the people who lived through it. Not only would I recommend this book to a friend, but I would also read future works from this author.

This book empowered me as a woman. Even if you're not thinking about having babies, or even if you never plan to, or if you have and are done... This book was the most important book I have ever read as far as my body and believing in it and in myself. I cried when I read the birth stories because they touched me so deeply.

I absolutely loved it. I hear there's a sequel. The movie was awful by comparison.

Second time reading this and just as good as the first time. Probably one of the best books I've read in the past year. One begins to gain an understanding for the numerous contradictions that Muslim women in the Middle East and Arabian Gulf deal with on a daily basis. Stereotypes and commonly held beliefs are challenged by "hearing" the voices of the women as they discuss how they see themselves and their role in society. I feel like bacon tonight.
I liked this book. I got it from my ex-boyfriend's family for Christmas, right after it came out. I didn't get a chance to read it until my second year of college, which was two years later. I think it is one of the lesser of the Margaret George novels, but that's still saying a lot! The author did her research, just like for all her other books, so we get insights into the life of this mysterious woman that we don't necessarily get in church.
Baseball! It's absurd, it's ridiculous, it's like Bull Durham without actually having to look at Susan Sarandon!
A disappointment after the wonderful soap opera of I Claudius!
