Account of the Holocaust. Very detailed account, not for the ill fainted folks. Talks about a boy's spiral from human to something else. Going through the Holocaust and changing within it. To get all this in, read slow.

Great book! When you read it, it is like you are right there. All of the books in this series are great!
I think this is my favorite book in this series. As much as I enjoyed the interplay between Archie Sheridan and Gretchen Lowell, it was starting to feel forced and I didn't think the author could sustain a series based purely on their relationship. This book moves away from that, focusing instead on the relationship between Archie and reporter Susan Ward. The tension in this story just crackles from start to finish--it's wonderfully paced and manages to weave in some history of the city of Portland, where the series takes place. It's interesting to me that the weakest part of Cain's books tends to be the crimes under investigation, but the characters and the pacing are so well handled that it's not as big a drawback as you'd think. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

The book is soooooo much better than the movie. Very witty in an English, Bridget Jones sort of way.
This book has a great title, and it actually lives up to its name. This is a must-read for anyone who is marketing or selling a product or service. It has practical ideas you can use today, and the concepts you'll learn will help you keep sales coming in for years into the future. This is one book that's just as good in audio as in print. You'll be so glad you took the time to read this one. I am, and I know I'll continue to reread this book in the future to gain even more insights.

I had very mixed feelings about this book. I loved the first three stories in The Boat, especially "Meeting Elise", about an artist reuniting with his daughter after eighteen years of separation. When I got to "Halflead Bay", about a teenage boy coping with his dying mother while trying to avoid fighting the school bully, I wondered if I was even reading the same author (and why the hell he stretched this shitty story out over 69 pages.) I also disliked "Hiroshima" and thought the last two entries were mediocre. Nam Le seems to be confused about what he wants to write about, and also what style he wants to write in. And the only story that came close to having an ending was the final one, which I suppose is appropriate...
Nice short continuation to Laid. The porn was hot (I could only imagine how it'd look as a film, lol. maybe I need to buy these web episodes xD) and I loved that Jack and Lucky have had a monogamous relationship even while being apart - guess I'm just tired of cheating and open relationships. Oh and jealous Lucky was cute too :) Good interlude between Laid and Laid 3!
