The telling of the Columbine massacre is so vivid that I was teary eyed at the wee hours of the morning. However, out of the 900 pages or so of this hardbound book, the ones related to the massacre is maybe only 1/4 of the whole book. I know that Wally Lamb wants to relate it to the life of the couple and he succeeded on doing that. However, I think the part of Mark Twain could be ommitted without affecting the content and impact of the novel as it is just misplaced. I think Wally Lamb is trying hard to make a monumental novel to earn another recommendation from Ophrah Winfrew Book Club but it is just too much of a stretch.

I really liked her descriptions of the shoes she wore and how focusing on her shoes soothed her...

This book got so much press and so much fanfare that I wasn't really sure what to expect and as usually happens with these type of things I was underwhelmed. It was a good story and sort of read like a mystery, but I didn't love it. The writing felt a little funny- a little clunky around the edges at times. However, the story as a mystery was pretty gripping and the characters were just bizarre enough to keep you wondering what would come next.

This book is not what I expected at all. From reading the inside cover, I assumed that I would be reading about Amy Latus' life and death as written by her sister, Janine. Instead, I was reading all about Janine's life and her relationships with men. This book is 304 pages and only the last 50 pages is about Amy and her murderer Ron Ball. All in all, the book is a decent read, but if you want to read about Amy Latus, this is not the book for it.

I didn't dislike this book for how it was written, though as with the case of all ghost-written books, it's not going to win a pulitzer any time soon. I didn't dislike it for anything in the style either. In fact the only reason I rate it so low is because that is what the subject deserves. It exposes a lot we already know. Madonna is selfish. Madonna is a bitch. Madonna would rape and behead her own grandmother for a chance at fame. This book just makes you aware of what a total bitch she actually is. For a while after reading it, I couldn't even listen to her music. If that's what her brother set out to do, he's done is work admirably well.

Cute book. It took me awhile to get into it...maybe because I am prego and reading three totally different books at the same time...hmmm. Love the end.

Best sequel ever! Can't believe how addictive I'm getting to this story. It's exciting to be so in love with characters and being on the edge of my seat to know what will happen next. I'm thinking this needs to be more than a movie - a tv show with 10 seasons! I'm loving the idea that there is another book - but what will happen with my life after the Hunger Games??? he he he
Dated but I love monastic history.
