Non-stop action that you can't put down. The best of Dan Brown's books.

I liked this book. It wasn't the greatest chick lit book ever, it was very soap opera-ish, but it was entertaining.

This read was another dud (for me). I can see why others like this title and author, but I'm (obviously) not a fan of Kristin Hannah. I much prefer authors that are less prolific and write unique stories of substance. I found this overly dramatic, and the attempts to incorporate 80s and 90s culture were too obvious. Still, it's a nice story of friendship, and I did want to know what happened next, so I give it two stars. Not a quality read, however.

This book made me cry. I thought it was a very clever offshoot from the Phantom of the Opera story. I love the humanity that is finally expressed in a protagonist that has always been somewhat Byronic...I don't even know if a lot of people would refer to him as the protagonist, previously. I also enjoyed Raoul's emasculation...that just warmed me up inside, especially since I never particularly cared for him at all. When I saw the play in person, I was annoyed beyond compare when Raoul had to sing. I definitely recommend this book to all Phantom of the Opera fans, in all the incarnations of the story...it is a great story!
I have mixed feelings about this book. I thought she had some excellent points and I think that most wives could find some good advice here to help her be a more attentive wife. In general I think women think men are more complicated than they are. I also like that she has values that she lives by and is not afraid to share them in this book. The things I didn't like are that she gives the impression that every marriage relationship is suffering and that every woman is critical and unfeeling toward her husband. After reading the first 3 chapters I felt beat down and a little down on myself. I connected with the second half of the book better than the first half. I think each person will find what they need here, based on where they are in their relationship. I also felt like the chapters were overly repetitive. She could have made her point with shorter chapters. Her overall tone is very negative towards women, even though that is her target audience. I know several women who were turned off by this book and I can see why. I'm glad I read this book because it got me thinking about things I may not have recognized in myself otherwise, but I definitely won't read it again.

Rick Riordan. One of my all time fav authors. This series was very good. I love how Rick added humor, a little romance and sassiness all in one. <3<3

Literacy skills: Print motivation-Older kids will find this book hilarious. Especially if they are familiar with the book Runaway Bunny. Vocabulary-There is some interesting spooky vocabulary in this story. (cathedral, gargoyle)

It was good but not revolutionary.
Lady Alexia , with a new parasol in hand, takes on a soul-sucking weapon and a cross-dressing scientist as well as her husband's Scottish relations in this sequel to the delicious Soulless. While I love cliff hanger endings, I also hate them. Why, oh, why don't I have the next installment already in hand!!! I officially hate my life until the library sees fit to get it to me.

Great read, inspiring but needs concentration. I read it in English and it was good translation
