This book had a little too much Romance for my taste but the story line itself was good. I thought this was an interesting take on what the world would be like for Shape shifters if they suddenly came out into the normal worlds. Sadly I could fully believe the powers that be would force those they feel are different into towns of their own to keep the normals safe. I may try the next book in the series. If you like all the romance and werewolves this would be a good choice for you.

There are two schools of thought on re-reading books. One contends that with so many excellent books in the world, it is a shame to waste time re-reading any. Another contends, in the words of C.S. Lewis, "any book worth reading only once was probably not worth reading even then." Few authors serve as greater evidence for Lewis' contention than P.G. Wodehouse. This was my third time reading The Code of the Woosters. For a Wodehouse uninitiate, this book would not be a bad place to start. The novel showcases many of the unforgettable Wodehouse characters introduced in his earlier books and throws them all together in another absurd situation, this time involving a silver antique cow-creamer and a weekend house-party at Totleigh Towers. Not only is the novel blessed with the inimitable Jeeves and Wooster as its central figures, but also hosts Bertie's beloved "aged-relative" Aunt Dahlia Travers, the insipid Madeline Bassett ("I believe the stars are God's daisy-chain..."), the simpering newt-enthusiast Augustus "Gussie" Finknottle, the vindictive Stephanie "Stiffy" Byng ("She is pure padded-cell from the foundation up!"), local clumsy curate Harold "Stinker" Pinker, Sir Watkin Bassett, (with whom Bertie shares a painful history), and the aspiring Fascist in black shorts, Sir Roderick Spode. Over the course of the weekend the cow-creamer in question is sought by no less than four different parties and its pursuit results in dog attacks, policeman's helmet pilfering, repeated fisticuffs, newts flushed down drains, engagements called, called off and called again, etc., etc. Like a Seinfeld episode, Wodehouse's humor pales in the retelling and must be experienced first hand.

It was okay but a little boring. It was slow reading because I couldn't read too much of it at once.
I finally did it. I walked into the library and picked up the first Harry Potter book to read. I also picked up two other books. After becoming highly annoyed with Sleepers by Lorenzo Carcaterra, I began reading J.K. Rowling's first adventure with the young wizard with the bad-ass lightning-shaped scar. I didn't like the book at first. I suspect it has more to do with Harry's aunt, uncle, and cousin: The Dursleys. They are assholes and I dislike their appearances in the movies as well. Once I got past the physically and emotionally abusive guardians of Harry Potter, I was able to enjoy the book. I had expected to be overwhelmed by odd names and odder actions but I was pleasantly surprised at the balance Rowling seems to have struck. As usual, the book is far more detailed than the movie. It also saves me being required to look at the kids' faces. Guh. Anyway, I feel like I actually understand the game of Quidditch and the myriad of secondary characters. They can start to blend together in the films because of the time restraints.

I wanted to read this book after watching and really enjoying the TV series 'Priveleged', which is adapted from the book. The book itself is a fast and easy chick lit book that is cute and much less mind-numbing than a lot of books in this genre. There were a few lines that had me rolling and overall, I thought it was a pleasant read. However, the producers of the tv series made some major changes from the book. I think had I read the book first, I would have been pretty pissy at how much the tv series differed, but having read it after loving the series, I can appreciate them as two separate entities.
amazing!
This book cannot possibly be put down!

The book is amusing, but I can't help thinking that if one tries any of this stuff while not being extremely charismatic, one is likely to get hurt.

A dark fantasy that seems to take place in the present, Cassel is the one un-gifted member of a curse working family who often has trouble remembering what's happening and where he's been. All he knows is that he apparently killed his best friend and now tries hard to pretend he's normal in his school. Dark and gritty and classic Holly Black
