Okay, so I struggled a bit with this book. I really liked the whole idea of reincarnation and their love transcending time, but there were some things that bothered me. I know that Lizzie was supposed to be meant for Drew and not Jeremy, but for all that she's been with him for a couple of years, they don't seem to really suit each other and the way they interacted I couldn't even picture them as friends. Then there was the thing with Lizzie and Drew, and I'm sorry to say I didn't really get why Lizzie was so attracted to him. I mean, I know that with the reincarnation their feelings are somehow kept intact, but he was NOT nice to her! Really! And his reasoning of dating her best friend? Not cool. Seriously. I thought they both made some bad decisions and I blame Drew for this more than Lizzie, since he seemed to know a whole lot more about their past lives! I thought Lizzie was really naive when she thought Chelsea wouldn't have a problem with her and Drew. I mean, really? I did really like the similarity of their situation now and how it all happened in their past lives and I thought the whole thing of their love transcending time was fascinating, I just wished the book had been a bit longer, so the storyline and characters could have been a bit more developed. By all the things mentioned above, I don't want to give you the wrong impression: I DID like this book, it was a very enjoyable read, just not without flaws. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series and finding out how this story continues. Which should be fun, since it's from Chelsea's POV and is called Vengeance... Someone's angry!! Should be good :) Oh, and one thing I forgot to mention: this story was inspired by the song Love Story by Taylor Swift! I really like that song and this is a sweet story that goes with it really well. My rating: 3 stars

This book was recommended to me from Amazon.com based on other books that I liked, and I was desperate to read something new, so I checked this book out. Ugh. It was extremely predictable and just plain stupid. I wanted to backhand the main character pretty much throughout the story, so that's a big stumbling block. Also, I got the feeling that the author was going for the whole "empowered female" theme with Gemma having mystical powers and taking her friends into other realms, but she failed mightily, and that annoys me more than just about anything else. I finished the book, but now, months after, I wonder why I did. I will never listen to Amazon.com again. :)
Totally wish I wasn't in the dark of this book before Oprah. I've been offhandedly studying the Holocaust for years, and this was just... no words can describe it. Another book I read in one night.
Creative and vivid tale encompassing what we know of humanity and what we can only imagine about the afterlife.

How often does one come across a paranormal that centers on a sizzling HOT MARRIED couple?!?!? Cat and Bones are not only serious kicking it vampires who fight to keep the world safe, they are totally devoted and completely dedicated to each other! This is such an incredible change of pace that I actually have to include a quote: A wave of heat rolled over my subconscious, as if my nerve endings had just been brushed with the warmest of caresses. My hands slowly fisted while I reisisted the urge to touch him, enjoying the building tension between us. Yes, this was different from the first giddy stage of attraction I'd felt for him, but that didn't diminish his effect on me. Instead, the desire I felt was richer, stronger, and far more intoxicating when combined with the hold Bones had over my heart>" Oh, let us burst forth into the hallelujah chorus!!! That kind of sizzling attraction is rarely shown in marriage, no matter the genre. All the most loved characters from previous books come back in this installment to help Cat and Bones also, allowing us to enjoy catching up with their stories as well. While the plot wasn't quite as edge of your seat exciting as previous offerings, it was still a lot of fun! *For those sex scene skippers, there is one potentially uncomfortable scene*
I didn't read all the poems - one can take it slowly. However her collection, Birds, for her daughter, is wonderful. She so captures the birds of Australia she writes about but also has cogent things to say about life for humans as well. She is a premier poet of lasts century in Australia. Her poetry is for the most part pretty accessible and speaks to us all. She was an environmentalist and activist for aboriginal rights as well. An indomitable woman.

Funny.
Basically, since my review vanished (hurrah) I really really love it, it makes me want to read it again and I love how much the characters have developed! Can't wait for book three, I highly recommend this one! I have a spoiler review which would be great if you check it out! But I just want to read it again but maybe not over six hours.

Wow. Good stuff. I was kind of expecting some of what was revealed in the end, events prior made it obvious. But the other stuff, also a bit surprising but at the same time I could tell it was coming. I love how Childress builds his characters. You really get into Daniel and Tim and their friendship. Daniel seems so naieve and really just ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time throughout most of the book.
