This book alternated between Kinsey's perspective (her investigation) and scenes from the past involving the various people involved in the life of the woman Kinsey was looking for. I don't recall previous Grafton novels doing this, but I thought it made this book much better than earlier (simpler) ones.

5stars. Rather busy these two days, but finally I could finish it. This third book amused me so much till I have no more words to say. All of it was about GREAT, AWESOME, MAGNIFICENT, FANTASTIC, REMARKABLE, TWO THUMBS UP and I LOVE YOU NALINI SINGH :* you made such a good story indeed. This time, Elena should face Raphael's mother who has awaken later. Many accidents happened, many people died, even a child, and many compulsion were used to trick Raphael and Elena, to make R consider to leave E, coz E has made him become a little mortal. It's Lijuan. She's so damn sux. Wondering why wouldn't they ( The Cadre ) kill her =.= she's the oldest among them, but if it would risk many lives , she should be killed, anyway. *praying* I think Raphael's mom isn't that scary and ruthless. No matter how bad she is in the past, she's still his mother anyway. and I love E more when she told R not to kill his mother just because she might harm her when she really awakes. I love when she said like this, many women have a problem with their mother-in-love :p and when R has to suffer the pain that Lijuan caused, E was there to hold him, tell him to not leave her, not now, never. i remembered she said, when we fall, we fall together, remember? sth like that :D i just love them both, and the Seven as well ^-^ can't wait for the fourth book. please release it soon :)

Jack Reacher is on a tour bus that wrecks in a snowstorm. He is stranded in a small town and is able to help the police department try to protect a key witness and unravel a mystery. Typical Reacher novel. I just find it hard to believe that Reacher, who is a tough awesome dude, can travel the country and find himself in confidence with law enforcement and be in the right place at the right time. Getting past that premise the books are involving and interesting. I thought the countdown in this book was overplayed.
