Twisted is pretty...well...twisted. Tyler's struggles at school as well as at home will speak to many young adults who deal with abuse, bullying, and trying to fit in. What I like about Laurie Halse Anderson's books is that she really gets into the protagonist's head and lets the reader feel trapped in the book. I also like her books because she writes about characters who take horrible situations and somehow find a way to cope and become better from the experience (at least in the two books I have read). Though the novel is at times uncomfortable and graphic in nature, I found that the message shines through the raw elements. NOT A READ FOR YOUNG READERS...probably best for juniors or seniors in high school.

Milton is the God of space when it comes to writing... but I wouldn't actually recommend this to many people when it came down to it mainly because those who sincerely enjoy Milton are sort of few and far between in my experience. Prove me wrong and read Paradise Lost and love it, really love it.

This is a terrific book. Even though it's non-fiction and a sobering topic, I couldn't put it down. The author did a remarkable job of balancing a lot of science, medicine, racial politics, and history and the personal story. I rarely say this, but: everyone should read this!

Great book on the exploits of a BlueBear. Due to it's style it needs to be read in little bits at a time so as you don't get bored, because it's not boring! (Except the begining of his life in Atlantis, did we really need the who list of creatures, really!?!) I also wish we could have had more time with the Chromo Bears...sequel?
