Interesting plot, but I figured out the kidnapper pretty early on. Also a lot of characters, really did not need that many points of view.

This book is less cheesy than you might think. It's almost exactly the same, except for the zombie references here and there. And I actually liked the infusion of zombies most of the time, because I think it works as a metaphor for everything Lizzy struggles through: her low birth, being smart AND a girl, and the ignorance of others. In this way, having her battle zombies operates as an extension of the things she battled in the original book. And who doesn't want to see a little pain inflicted on Lady Catherine? Let's be honest. All in all I enjoyed it and had fun with it, but I think that you should NOT read this book unless you've read and loved the original first.
I enjoyed reading 90% of this book. Although Tolstoy was long winded in the final chapters. It is a tragic love story with all the elements, but I thought I'd be more connected with Anna and in the end didn't feel sympathy for her...Still other good simple characters that turn complex. If you have the time - a must read.

Although some other readers have felt this book tug at their heart strings and moral fibers while at once being told that it's okay because there were some nice women, I didn't get that feeling at all. I hoped for everything to turn out just fine, but didn't expect it. I was saddened by some of the ploys in the book, but never felt that one or two instances of white people being nice made everything better. I liked this book and wish there were more at the end.
Very interesting. Worth reading the book just to read the chapter entitled "Crossing the Line." I read it out loud to David last night and we both cried.

This is perhaps the worst book I ever finished. I don't really recommend it. The thought experiment aspect of the book could have been interesting, but was unfortunately written for people who haven't read Baudrillard and don't understand particle physics. Which I don't, but I got it much faster than the people in the book. Plus, the story was absurd, and poorly thought out. The main character was smarter than the writer, and seemed to resent that. Plus, it seemed that the sex scenes were written by someone who knows nothing about sex about someone who has serious sex issues. It was almost unbearable. I only finished the book because it was short and I have an obsession with finishing books. I wouldn't recommend anyone else try it. It doesn't get any better. But I gave it 2 stars because I finished it.

I just love reading her books - I never do any of her projects but I love reading her books. Her approach to craft is very much about relationships.
The plot was a little confusing at times. Would not recommend.

For a thrilling page-turner full of unholy perversions and redeeming moral sentiments check out LITTLE WOMEN GONE WILD. Seriously. That Alcott chick can write. If you're not hooked by the third chapter, your money back.* *at participating Walden Books
