When you hit mdlakafda age then thoughts turn to "is this all there is?" While there are some issues that are simplistic, Eckart Tolle has a way of giving a little hope and if nothing else spreading a little kindness which is always a good thing.
I know I'm supposed to love this book. It's a fast odd weird read. Society dictates you just go on and on about how you much love this book, for me it was fast, enjoyable, but not the over the top experience I know it's supposed to be.

I loved loved loved this book!!! When I first saw it at the book store I wasn't sure that i wanted to read it, but then I saw the preview for the movie and I decided that i wanted to read the book before the movie came out. It was sooo good that I finished it within 3 days. The story is about a girl named skeeter who just graduated from Mississippi and moves home and wants to become a writer. An editor at a publishing company tells her that she should write about stuff that bothers her and she decides to write about the way that blacks maids are treated in the south. The story is told from 3 points of a view, skeeters and minny's (a black maid) and abileen's (another maid). I don't want to get into too much detail because I hate when I already know the ending to a book before I even begin reading it. But I think this is a great read for anyone.
Really enjoyed this cute little mystery. Read it for book club for our Savannah Girls Getaway weekend. There were some laugh out loud moments and this book made me want to revisit my secret passion as a junk picker, looking for the ultimate treasure!

I love this book!!! My partner and I read this book for first garde students and they loved it!! Some words were difficult for them, but they understood most of them. Some students even used the adjectives from the book in their activity describing the lollipops.I can see how this book can be a little overwhelming, but it could be broken into the small parts to make it easier.

I have to say I enjoyed this one much more than -Enders Game-, there didn't seem to be as much filler. It is strange though because, Card comes up with these really cool sci-fi ideas but then writes his characters so well and fills the situation with such human emotion that the cool ideas get kind of overshadowed. I really like both aspects but for some reason they don't add up and blow me away. So in the end this is the kind of book that I would enjoy on audio but wouldn't really want read in book form (over a period of 4 or 5 weeks - at my speed). The next book is available on audio so I'll probably listen to it sooner or later but I'm not super excited about it.

I read this book for the first time right before I started my freshman year of high school. It was so wonderful to read something I really related to. I think it's a great book to read if you feel misunderstood, or awkward, which most of us do at the beginning of high school.
I enjoyed this book - it's another one of these "wife" books like "American Wife" (truly amazing) and "Ahab's Wife," about the point of view of women married to famous men. I didn't know much about Hemingway's youth or his first marriage, so it was interesting to see the groundwork being laid for both his future success and future destruction. I also thought of "Midnight in Paris" although that version of Hemingway, Scott and Zelda was much more fun.

Loved, loved, loved it!! Can't wait to read the sequel. We started listening to it on the way home from Bear Lake and Brad (17 years old)liked it so much that he finished it before I did!
** spoiler alert ** I read the series in the shortest of time and I really liked it. After book 1 I was a bit disappointed to see the story evolve into a new direction, but thinking about it now makes me realize that it was a good idea of the author to take that road. Starting the last books made me really curious about how the story would end and while I knew I couldn't expect a happy ending I still hoped to be left with some hope. I am now. And I'm relieved. The whole series made me think about many things I take for granted and I tried to imagine how it would be to not have these things in my life anymore. It's hard and I don't think I could do it. But that made me appreciated the filled fridge, the heater in my house, power 24/7 and everything else even more.
