THE MOST POWERFUL AUTOBIOGRAPHY EVER! I had shivers down my spine reading this book. This book made me understand Malcolm X more.

This book was pretty good. My only problem with it is that I believe it is marketed too young. There is one particular scene about someone losing their virginity too soon (it isn't explicit, but it is there) and the aftereffects. When I read it one of my cousins in the 3rd grade was reading it and I cautioned her mother because at least my aunt could be prepared for any questions that might come about. Besides that I would recommend this book to teen girls who like books like "The Princess Diaries".

Gordon Ramsay is awesome. The thing I learned most is that he is a crazy hardworking freak. You may see him on TV and think he's and "arsehole", but deep down his passion for cooking and success is really genuine. I learned much needed colorful language as well... bollocks!!
My ten-year-old daughter made me read this book. I'm not even sure why, but I wasn't very excited about it. It turned out not to be as depressing as I thought it was going to be. I was sure that a book set in these circumstances would be nothing but misery. Turns out the author does a great job at showing how people, like the desert, can blossom even under harsh circumstances.

The premise is pretty cool: a company creates a little nanotech thing that’s supposed to spy for the army by flying around and making complex camera-like (actually eye-like) structures and then transmitting images. There are some problems in the design and programming, particularly regarding their tendency to be dispersed by the wind. Some of them get out of the compound in the desert where they’re being manufactured, and they take on a life of their own and become completely independent and start killing animals and then people. Of course, since it’s a Michael Crichton book. Anyway, the science in it is pretty cool, with all of the programming/computing stuff, nanotechnology, and even bacteriology. It’s written well and the characters are compelling. The biggest problem comes right at the end, when a virus that is supposed to kill the bacteria living in the swarm kills them on contact. Crichton knows better than that; in fact, he had described viral behavior not too much earlier in the book. He didn’t give any time for incubation or anything, just poof! the swarm contacts the virus and dies. So overall a fun book to read, but the end isn’t satisfying.

This book really gets down deep within us and gets at what really irks people in western societies. It drives deep into the soul and helps to unify the scattered pieces.

**Because this book's a sequel the review may contain spoilers** Cathing Fire by Suzanne Collins starts off on the first day of the Victory Tour. But Katniss is surprised to find none other than President Snow in her house asking her to be on her best behavior and very much in love for the cameras in hopes of mediating the masses who are restless and rebellious. Katniss is thus thrust back into Peetas arms as they go through the Tour. Upon returning Katniss finds that things aren’t as quiet as she would like, or as President Snow would like so she plots ways to save her family and keep them safe from Snow’s menacing grasp. A major twist happens half way through the story and we see Katniss thrown back into her worst nightmare. To see how she copes and what comes of her you will have to go pick up a copy but I do need to say that the ending is a machine gun of events that leave you breathless, jaw dropped waiting, drooling for the sequel. Although the plot is a bit laborious in a few parts Collins delivers another action packed, thrilling story filled with love and gore. Yes, gore! Collins spares no details and doesn’t leave unnecessary information in letting the story quickly progress. Katniss is still headstrong and powerful full of wit, wisdom and unmatched cleverness. Peeta is the perfect and sweet companion that always has the right things to say. One thing about Peeta that strikes a chord with me is his seemingly perfect demeanor and his undying love which leads me to believe that perhaps there HAS to be something else there, something more sinister…and only a sequel can tell. I say this book is great! A super fast read that won’t let you put the book down. Each chapter takes you for a loop and you never see the next thing coming. I give this book a 95/100 A- Characters- 19 Plot- 20 Writing- 19 Originality- 18 Re-Readability- 19
I hope all the Oprah book club fans read this next.
