A wise and subtle book about what it's like to grow up female in our world, and one of those rare books that gains a new layer of depth upon every rereading.

I learned more from writing it than reading it. ;-) Seriously, I spent a few years autopsying what I had learned from years with one foot in "traditional media" and one foot in "digital media." And I was often asked to teach what I'd learned. So I started to pull the thread of "media" and the whole sweater unraveled. I had to re-knit my understanding of media and narrative in a way that was self-consistent and teachable. It was an amazing journey and I wrote the book much as a journal of that journey. I'm confident it'll provide a foundation for better understanding of the changes occuring in media and commerce for anyone interesting in going down that rabbit hole. Blue pill or red pill, y'all?

I laughed through a good part of this book. Dayna is a 30 year old "cusping" witch. One that's considered a renegade as she had never been too good with her spells and magic so she ran to the totally mortal world. Enter one T.J. who's a Tracer to find all the cusping witches who have not come in for their "formal" training - a new rule in the witch community. But something big going down and TJ has been working on it, Dayna stumbles into unintentionally and then finds the answer that TJ won't listen to. Dayna has the answer, but will TJ listen in time to save the day???

this book was pretty good. it started out really good although it had a few slow parts. i wish the author would have described the society a bit more as i love dystopia novels but this story is about a world where everyone stops ageing and i think its a good subject and decent writing and i will read more of her work for sure!

Someone on Tumblr is going to read this and that reminded that I HAD read it a very long time ago, as a senior in high school. My grandmother thought I was crazy for reading it. This I would have to say sparked my interest in law and criminal investigation. Not that I majored in either of those things.
Got a huge kick out of it. This poor guy is trying to take over a hotel in the Islands and it's a disaster. Very entertaining and easy read.
I love how this book represents a flash in history. It also reveals questions about identity--do we identify ourselves according to how others identify us or according to what we believe?
