I probably say this after every book I finish by Lisa Kleypas but I really think this one is my favorite *winces as she thinks of Suddenly You, Dreaming of You, Somewhere I'll Find You, Again the Magic, Prince of Dreams, Secrets of a Summer Night, Worth Any Price, Devil in Winter, Smooth Talking Stranger, Lady Sophia's Lover, Mine Till Midnight.....* Kleypas has written maybe 40 books...I've read at least 25 of them, and I've yet to find two that are alike. No wonder the We Love Lisa Kleypas group has been consistently active since it's conception over a year ago...the lady is AMAZING! [image error]

Last one! Pretty good book. So far I have only read this one once. Poor J.K. Rowling left so much unresolved that she had to cram all the loose ends into one book. This put her in a couple situations where you could tell she couldn't figure out how to move the plot along so something very very lucky and improbable would come along and give Harry the knowledge to move forward. The book slows down quite a bit during the camping chapters and was a little boring because nothing happens. But it all turns right in the end and we find out how it all comes together(I was right!). It is a pretty intense book. There is a war going on after all.

Jacob is in love with a woman whom he cannot have, and Lilly’s life has been devoted to caring for her mother and teaching the children in their community. Jacob and Lilly had grown up together but never thought of the possibility of a relationship, until a series of unlikely events throws the two together. They impulsively decide to marry as a way to protect Jacob and save Lilly’s reputation and so begins the story of their courtship – after their marriage. Issues of trust, kindness and compassion manifested in several ways that I found to be really interesting. Jacob’s love of and work with horses, Lilly’s teaching and efforts with a young special needs student Able (as well as Jacob’s caring for this boy), and the way that the community responded to Lilly’s mom’s depression. It was through seeing how Lilly and Jacob cared for others that they were able to trust each other at first to find a common ground, and later to discover a love for each other that they had denied due to their past hurts and heartbreaks. Long made sure that Jacob and Lilly had a strong foundation of friendship and respect before they loved eachother romantically. The character of Kate Zook really bothered me and seemed so inconsistent with what I thought I knew about Amish youth – although her character helps to illustrate the Amish belief in forgiveness. “It is the Amish way, to go beyond fairness and to think about forgiveness first. Then we can be angry, or hurt, or sad” (p. 229). I can see why her character was developed as she was, but I could have done without this added drama. Other than the story line of Kate Zook, I really enjoyed the second installment in the Patch of Heaven series by Kelly Long and am interested to see where the author takes the characters in her next book. ****Disclosure of Material Connection: I received this book free from the publisher through the BookSneeze®.com book review bloggers program. His language reminded me of Tom Robbins... really rich and wonderful but you have to be in the mood to absorb it. The character tree in the version I borrowed helped a lot to sort out who was who as many people from different generations in this family share the same name.

I had to read this for school, it wasn't to bad. I wouldn't have read it for pleasure but it was one of the better school books.
I finished listening to this one in the car today, and I really enjoyed it. A fascinating look at decision-making and the importance of learning to listen to and trust one's first instincts. Highly recommended!

This book would be good to use to teach about phonics and rhyming words. The teacher can read to the class the story and as a whole they try to figure out the rhymes of the story.
