We couldn't read this all in one sitting because there is a lot of information on each page. But taking it three pages at a time worked well and I even learned a lot! Great book for them to grow into.

In the same lines of Mike Gecan's Going Public, Cold Anger tells the stories of another community organizer, Ernie Cortez, in south Texas. Not as great on the theoretical aspects of organizing, this story is told through a third party; an observer who spent time with Cortez and watched him in action. While there isn't the intensity of Going Public, Cold Anger is another great primer in community organizing.

this book was just so appealing to me. i can perfectly understand the heroine imagining the perfect fiance to comfort both herself and her dying godmother, and her horror at discovering that her co-workers think he's real and try to help her find "closure" at his untimely "death." and dare i bandy the term "witty repartee" here? now i know why i ordered this author's entire backlist!

Lots of very emotionally engaging storylines. Moving and good character pieces.

100 Secret Senses by Amy Tan This book was great. A real page turner. For me it was the perfect combination of spirituality and reality combining. It was also great to read about how your past culture and your present American culture can collide and also feel so distant from each other. Amy Tan is a brilliant writer. I’ve liked almost everything of hers that I have read to date.
As a misanthropic nerd from Western North Carolina, this book was almost TOO CLOSE TO HOME. I enjoyed Janice, her dying coffeehouse, the terrible mean girls who appear quite ladylike and her description of her fellow townspeople as biscuit-eaters. Also, her mom was fun and the lesson of not being so hateful is a good one for Janice to learn. And me. Wait a second...

George Packer supported the war early on, moved by the possibility of a democratic and free Iraq. From this position, he makes a strong case for the best intentions of the war's architect but quickly recognizes and does not flinch from the government's mismanagement of the conflict.
this author had a great idea giving this book two point of views i like it

Despite the repulsive title this is great. Archie at his best. Any Rex Stout is great, any and all of it.
