I thought the concept behind the story was great - two different alien races fighting it out on planet earth w/o humans knowing about it. The plot ties in the city of Atlantis, King Arthur and the Knight of the Round Table, Merlin, etc. I haven't read a science fiction story in a while, so it was a nice change of pace. That said, the story concept was probably better than the actual story, but a fun/easy read anyway.

I started listening to this book as an audiotape on a bus trip to drown out the two men conversing loudly in front of me. They were discussing Battlestar, which they called Firefly, and getting it all wrong. Anyway, I snatched my iPod and turned on the first book I came to which happened to be this one, only it was a Libravox recording and it was called "Three Men and a Maid." "The Girl on the Boat" is its American name. Anyway, it was an extremely amusing book, and the characters, while still familiar Wodehouse, were not quite all the same ones. Very amusing scene with a suit of armor and an elephant gun.
my first attempt at a mystery novel. though i don't think i learned very much from it, i did find it highly enjoyable and a very quick read.
GORGEOUS. Every line is thought provoking and beautiful. Garcia Marquez is a literary genius.

This is the smartest book about psychotherapeutic relationships and what can so easily go wrong when 2 human beings are working together. Sue Elkind provides a unique perspective, and writes with genuine warmth, humility, and intelligence about therapeutic dyads. She gives examples about what in patients’ and therapists’ backgrounds can, despite their best intentions, lead to wounding and impasses in the relationship. She writes of those pairings that are mismatches and those which can be worked through. She reveals honestly her own experiences as a patient and as a psychotherapist. A very helpful book for both therapists and students, and patients who are engaged (or will be participating in) psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, relational psychotherapy work. I’m really surprised that this book is not more widely read; I recommend it to people all the time.

First read this book in secondary school, and re-read it a few times afterwards. Another immensely enjoyable collaboration between 2 very different but very talented authors. Their separate styles add to the flavour of the book. On their own, the 2 authors write fantastically well too.
I love Bill Bryson, and I love this book of his most of all.

Compared to the first one I felt that this one was more funny due to the sarcasim. I felt that the girl Keira was more of a realistic type of girl compared to Brittney in the first book. At times there was still that West Side Story/Romeo and Juliet crap. Some parts of the book were in sink of what happened to Alex in the first book, which I didn't like because I like my books to be unpredictable. I gave it a higher rating compared to the first one because I felt it was at least more realistic even though at times you noticed it was following the same events which occured to Alex and Brittneys relationship in the first book.
Great book, really made you think about what it was like back then.
This is one time that I'm not sure which is better -- the book or the movie. I enjoyed her character development and the relationship between mother and child.
