I loved this book!
i know, i know. every loves this book. i thought it was too long and not really about anything.
I loved this book. Absolutely loved it, because we listened to the same music during the 80s, even though we were on opposite coasts (mine being cooler) and two years apart in age (me being younger). A lot of his descriptions about bands (one-hit wonders, specific songs, band stylings, etc) were so completely spot-on in a way that makes me crazy jealous as a writer. I feel like a copy of this book needs to be buried in a time capsule, so that historians can look at the tome and get an accurate picture of what the 80s were like (specifically the new waver generation living in America...we really were a sad bunch, but awesome, nevertheless!)
Although I didn't like Quinn as much as the previous brothers, Hunter more than made up for it. Can't wait for the next one!

This is my all time favourite book in the world ever. Bachanalia being a passion of mine of course. Its a murder mystery but so much more. I believe that Donna Tartt studied in the same English class as Brett Easton Ellis. Interesting that a lot of their work covers that period in their lives. I fell in love with the characters in this book and I never get sick of reading it.
interested in borrowing this from someone...
When I described that the book was about a group of people who are engineered, my roommate pointed out, "That sounds like your kind of superpower." And she was DEFINITELY right on that count. In "Beggars in Spain" revolutions in biology have made it possible to create a class of people who don't sleep. Not just don't need sleep, but can't. And an inherent side-effect is also increased intelligence. But, like the beginning of so many books, its not until this new creation is introduced to the public that considerations are taken as to how others may react. You guessed it - fear and jealousy. So, the book takes us through the 'Sleepless's fight for equality through the eyes of the first to be born in this way. College. Relatives. Life. Loyalty. Easy, read, with some solid thoughts to inspire. P.S. Thanks to Felicia Day for the recommend

I read this at 19 and thought the message to women nod worthy. Its true that at the core women want to know they are found captivating. And I applaud the authors for communicating this. However, for a book of this subject, I thought the contend was overly dramatic and very repetitive. Also a bit problem with me, not a lot of talking about the Word.

I read this book when I was about 10, It freaked me out! I always loved that about John Bellairs' books. (not all of them did this, but the writing always sucked me in)
