Not a bad book. I think it could have been somewhat shorter and still been just as good or better. I was getting a bit weary by the end cause nothing much was going on.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 Catching an Evil Tail is Mary Abshire's thrilling follow up to Claiming the Evil Dead. Jessie Garrett is a half-demon with a unique ability. She's able to dispose of evil souls by ingesting them. Though she has tried to hide her gift for most of her life, Jessie was recently "outed," and now the supernatural community is after her help. While her vampire boyfriend Drake is in Europe on business, Jessie agrees to help a friend of a friend. Well, her friend is actually Jeremy, a demon she owes a debt to, and his friend happens to be a werewolf named Ryan. Alan, the Alpha of Ryan's pack has been challenged for control by an evil werewolf who has spent years terrorizing and murdering women. Alan wants Jessie present at the challenge so she can send his soul to hell. To complicate matters, Jeremy wants Jessie for more than just her soul catching abilities, and Drake is none to thrilled about her being with him while he is away. I dare you to read the first chapter and not be sucked into this story! (This was also true of the previous book.) Mary Abshire knows how to grab the reader's attention and not let go. The plot moves fast with a few surprising twists along the way. While I'm not sure this story follows the rules of a romance exactly, there are plenty of sexy scenes and erotic tension for those who like it steamy. The cast of characters is strong, and it includes the major players in the paranormal realm: demons, werewolves, vampires, warlocks and witches. If you like strong female leads, then you will love Jessie. She is tough and knows how to take care of herself, but also realizes when she needs help. She continues to be troubled by her demon-half, wondering if she herself is doomed for hell, or whether her good deeds will save her soul. In this story, Jessie's relationship with Drake is rocky when she feels he has betrayed her trust. At the same time she's tempted by not one, but two other men who have set their sights on her: Jeremy and Alan. Jessie is conflicted, and the situation is an emotional one, not only for her but for the men vying for her attention. Catching an Evil Tail is a captivating story that would appeal to fans of paranormal romance and urban fantasy. I'm very curious to see what happens to Jessie in the next book, Fighting Evil. Drake or Jeremy...who will she choose?

The second book in the bitchingly (yeah, I said bitchingly. Want to fight about it?) titled, "Gentlman Bastards Sequence" Red Seas is easily on par with it's much-hyped, well-received predecessor. It's fast, it's brutal, and it's fucking funny. Lynch may lack the intricacy, intrigue, and immersion of GRRM's well known (to say the least) "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, or the plain gorgeous prose of LeGuin's "Earthsea Cycle" but he easily makes up for it with brilliant character development, and clever, breathless plotting. Buy it the second it arrives at your local bookstore.

Not only one of the best science fiction novels I've read in a long time, but just one of my favorite pieces of literature in general. Morgan has created whole future cultures and wrapped a detective story in frighteningly plausible far-future science. I hesitate to say more, as I don't want to ruin the fabulous discoveries to be made while reading this. Just go read it and find out for yourself how awesome it is.

So I really enjoyed parts of the book but not so much for others. I actually really like Julian!! I have high hopes for him, hopefully! as for the ending, it didn't surprise me because I TOTALLY CALLED IT from when I finished delirium. I knew that was going to happen!

Only got through the first portion which was Italy. I really disliked this book, what a whiney self centered woman!!

Brilliantly written (as you would expect). Very interesting on her childhood in Edinburgh and her semi-secret war work. A bit light on how she felt about things. I particularly disliked the part where she was spiteful about someone she didn't get on with. In my opinion a public work of literature is not the place for personal vendettas.

A beautifully written novel with a terribly unsatisfying ending.
By time I finished the first chapter of Good Girls Don't, two thoughts ran through my mind, one - WHY THE HECK HAVEN'T I read anything by Victoria Dahl, two put her on auto buy NOW. Good Girls Don't is book one in the Donovan Brewery series by Victoria Dahl. I was extremely pleased by this contemporary romance, besides being a great love story with steamy sex, humor and strong emotional battles, there is a mystery in GGD that honestly kept me guessing for most of the book, every time I thought I figured it out, I was wrong. Tessa is the youngest of the Donovan siblings, Eric and Jamie are her very protective older brothers. Since the death of their parents, Eric has been like Tessa and Jamie's father. Jamie is a playboy and somewhat irresponsible. Because of their roles Eric and Jamie constantly butt heads and Tessa tries to hold them together. Luke...I can't say much about him without spoiling the story, but what I can say is he is a total package, caring, sexy and alpha. I would say too sweet for his own good in some cases, to the point that he has a reputation that isn't 100% accurate. For more about Good Girls Don't visit: http://naughtycougartales.blogspot.co...
