Gabriel Allon, art restorer/Israeli agent, is investigating a bombing in Vienna at the Wartime Claims and Inquiries office. This book takes Allon back to WWII and the Nazis crimes committed during the Holocaust. Allon tracks a former Nazi around the globe piecing together old clues to figure the true identity of the bad guy. The book was most riveting when it was set in the past with Allon's parents in the concentration camps. The chase in the present was just alright, Allon was almost killed several times, but it just wasn't that gripping to me, whereas the historical part was.

Interesting but pretty dry in spots, especially compared to Larson's other work.
Karen Miller has a knack for brilliant character dynamics. Even if you don't love them, you feel what they're going through without the struggles feeling contrived. They're believable, they react in believable ways and they feel as any of us might feel. The story picks up directly from where its predecessor left off, and barrels along like a steam engine nowhere near stopping. We learn more about the history of Barl, her wall, and how everything came to be. We learn more about the two peoples. All in all, this was a really fun read.

Loved it. Not really a biography per se, but a collection of wonderful anecdotes about Feynman's life. Feynman was a brilliant physicist with a zest for life, a mischievous streak, and a decidedly un-scientist personality. Read this book if you want to laugh, to be thoroughly entertained, and to learn a little something about how to live life.

This is my favorite Kingsolver book. Probably because of the romance.
This book is amazing. I have been an admirer of Christine Schmidt of Yellow Owl Workshop for a couple years now, and I was delighted to discover that she put together this fantastic how-to guide. I love love love hand printing and the projects in the book are really cool and useful. I'm sad to take this back to the library :( Someone buy it for me?
** spoiler alert ** If I could give this 2.5 stars, I would. It WAS good. However, it dragged at certain points and the throw in of Americanisms being said by non-American characters (I highly doubt any member of the British magical community would use the word 'semester', for example) threw me off a little. The whole inclusion of Merlin and that story also felt a little weird to me. But this is certainly worth a read for those who like HP fics (because that IS what this is) and want to keep the story going for a little bit longer. I'm not entirely sure if I'll be reading the sequels or the author's original works. Possibly at some point, but not for a while at least.
** spoiler alert ** 8 books into the series, I can honestly say I'm hooked. At first, I thought the series was just a hodge podge of supes - but now, I see it kind of as a mix of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Charmed - and that's a good thing! I love the fact that the sisters are getting pretty secure in their love lives and at the same time, continue to grow into what their destiny is to be. Honestly, I was pretty sad when Chase and Delilah ended their relationship and I kept hoping that they'd find a way to get back together - but we'll see what Shade's character will do to help the storyline and help me feel as though she made the right choice. It's clear also that Yasmine Galenorn's writing style has improved as the books continue. Though there are still some times when I find that there's a little too much description of scenery for my taste, overall the books have gotten so much better than the first - and I'll continue to read the series to the end.

In my opinion, this did not work well as a sequel to the wonderful first book in the trilogy, which was a huge pity. Because much of this book occurs during the central part of Austen's Pride & Prejudice, when Darcy is offstage, the author feels free to create a cast of additional characters and take him to some really bizarre and off-the-wall adventures. While mostly staying true to the style of the original, there are some anachronistic errors that are jarring. In its favor, the actions of Darcy are believable, and they do flesh out his character and make his proposal and the renewal of it more understandable in the third book.
