Not Harry Potter - but easy and fun read.

Really recommend this. It's a lesser known series of Card's, much more rooted in mysticism and history than science and future. I dig.

I preferred the first half of this book and didn't like the part from Marmie's perspective as much. Very imaginative to look at the forgotten father figure! Geraldine Brooks is an excellent writer, and this is an impressive first novel.

Denisovitch is a fictional character in the real setting of a Soviet gulag. This novella begins in the morning and ends in the evening of one day, as the title indicates. I was completely absorbed when I read it and as a result afterward I began reading a longer novel by Solzhenitsyn titled "The Inner Circle" but it didn't hold my interest.

Although this book is in the Juvenile section of the library, I found it very entertaining and sometimes even laugh out loud. I buy Dave Barry books for our local library every time he writes a new one and one of the perks of "adopting an author" is getting to be the first person who reads the book. This book was a lot of fun and kept me interested until the final pages--there aren't too many books I have read lately that have done that.

I don't know if I'm going to finish this. It's really boring so far.

This book was good, but very hard to read. It made me very emotional to think about my parents ever passing. I don't recommend this if you don't want to confront these issues or have to use a hanky while you read!

This read was another dud (for me). I can see why others like this title and author, but I'm (obviously) not a fan of Kristin Hannah. I much prefer authors that are less prolific and write unique stories of substance. I found this overly dramatic, and the attempts to incorporate 80s and 90s culture were too obvious. Still, it's a nice story of friendship, and I did want to know what happened next, so I give it two stars. Not a quality read, however.
One of the weakest scifi books I've read in the last two or three years. Skip it and read something for free from Baen's free library: everything there is better than this.
