Reviewed for Wickedly Bookish http://wickedlybookish.blogspot.com/ Dragonfly in Amber is the continuing story of Claire and Jamie and they adventure into 18th century France in an attempt to prevent Charles Stuart from fighting his famous battle for Scotland. Claire and Jamie must do their best to prevent the battle from taking place, and wiping out the highlanders for good. This one was super long like the first one, but took me much longer to read. I felt much of the excitement and allure of the first book was lost in the great detail. It dragged on at times, stuck in describing daily routines and custom of the time. Despite the incredible length and slow pace, this installment in the Outlander series was still memorable. The return of many of the characters we love and those we love to hate, will keep you determined to finish. The events in the lives of these characters are still very much emotionally engaging and there are by no means lack of plot twists. I would keep this one at your bedside and suggest that you enjoy it chapter by chapter as they are pretty long. This one may take awhile to get through, but it is well worth the time.

I used to love this book. There was a little girl who lived in an orphanage and up came a giant. This giant seemed mean at first but then he turned out to be pretty friendly. He told her that although he did not eat people there were others like him who do eat people. Throughout this book they were trying to find plans to defeat these human eaters and protect the rest of the humans.

Or maybe this is my favorite. I'm a big fan of Wally Lamb. I wish he'd write more.
Just know that I loved it! Kind of magical and very engrosing.

In the third and last of the Hunger Games series, Katniss finds herself at the center of a revolution – the symbol of the rebellion against the Capitol. While not quite as compelling as the first two installments, “Mockingjay” still provides edge-of-the-seat excitement and important, curiosity-piquing questions (and answers) about the main characters and the situations in which they find themselves. This is an important series to read with the young adult in your family as it engenders many open-ended questions leading to some terrific discussions. Highly recommended. Grade: A-
Superb read .......... as good as the 'THE IMMORTALS OF MELUHA'. Waiting for its sequel already
"Of all the Rohan books, I found Shameless to be funnier with more humor than any of the others in this series. I love the interaction between Neddie and Melisande and the dialogue between them had me laughing out loud. Lots can also be said about the overwhelming chemistry between these two that practically poured off the pages." Check out more of Vickie's review on NRR http://www.nocturnereads.com/Shameles...

Not a great biography but, a fascinating character and probably the number one inspiration for Steve Albini's writing style.
