I would say 4.5 stars. I was pretty tempted to rate it with 5 but I just couldn't bring myself to. It's a really good novel in terms of character development and the romance. The romance was the best part. I felt a connection with the characters and certain parts in the novel pulled at my heartstrings. This just tells you how good of an author Ann Aguirre is. I'll be sure to buy more of her works!

Suspenseful, well paced book with an amazingly well done unreliable narrator and lots of twists and turns. It's hard to write much about this book without spoiling it! It's a very dark, layered book with lovely ambiguity.

White couple gives birth to an African American baby and the trouble begins.She didn't have an affair, his waspy family is very accusatory, the husband is doubtful & demands a DNA test etc. etc. You can imagine. Didn't particularly care for the writing style, but it did bring up some interesting questions about race & your own bigotries.

I expected a bit more insight from the comic industry's most innovative writer. The stuff in the beginning about the societal origins of Superman and Batman were hilarious and interesting but the autobiographical stuff involving his actual comics career left a lot to be desired and was heavily distorted through the shit colored glasses of Ego.

Best book like ever! It shows that people are brave enough to show how they feel. But in the end, it is really sad. I want to keep reading the series. I think they will be really interesting. Go Haddix!
