This sounds like a horrible sci-fi book, but it's really about memory and impressions, and an antique book dealer's childhood in Fascist Italy. And it has pictures. I was very sad when it was over.

This book was great it makes you want to keep reading with lies , drama, betrayal, murder, and money how could you go wrong!!!!
Ratner's Star is a clever bit of science fiction, a powerful observation of mathematical pursuits and, as always with Delillo full of wide ranging human insights. Very enjoyable.
AMAZING. I totally get why they made the movie (although they kindof butchered the story a little bit but what movie interpretation does not). Really thought provoking.
This book was a wonderful surprise. Written about Frank Lloyd Wright and Mamah Cheney's love affair, it is filled with great details of architecture, passion and the consequence of pursuing personal freedom. Mamah, a budding feminist, met Frank when she and her husband commissioned him to design their new home. Their attraction began a love affair that shocked Chicago society, so they fled to Europe and, ultimately, to the now famed Taliesin in Wisconsin. Insightful and engrossing.
A slow paced love story with girls from two different worlds the poverty of Manhattan and private school girl from Brooklyn Height. The girls meet each other at a museum and the two young woman become kids again as they fall deeper in love. The best book I've ever read.

A good book. I really liked the first series because it was funny, and I hope that this after-series can be just as good. I think it's just as funny as the first series.

I have read some reviews that say that this book breaks down the complicated nature of credit default swaps, CDOs, mortgage backed securities, etc., and makes it understandable. While I can say that after reading this book I know more than I did, I would be lying if I said I understand what really they really are and what really happened. That said, I enjoy the way the Michael Lewis uses the stories of real people to explain the events, rather than just giving a time-line of what happened. Early on I got really into it, but later on the book, I found it dragged a bit for the second half. I would recommend this book but be prepared the depressing effect information can have.
