I very much enjoyed this book, it was a pleasant read. It wasn't packed full of adventure but it was a honest look into this woman's life. Some things are just what they are type of book. The main character of the book was a very pleasant woman, relatable, but she wasn't an outstanding superstar. She was more of an underdog finding her way. Spoiler alert...it wasn't an American happy ending, but it wasn't supposed to be either. It's a very closed set and situation during this particular period. Author successfully captures the island's sense, and her character development is what I enjoyed the most. What I liked particularly was that there were no excuses, some things just were.

A really odd novel by Diana Wynne Jones - and my appreciation of it is surely not helped by the fact it has been years since I read the first two books. It is an archaic mythic sort of YA fantasy, and it stands on its own almost, apart from the ending where resolution is projected to the final book in the quartet. It reminded me a bit of Red Shift, though less cryptic and less despairing. But it is odd indeed. And I did not like Spellcoats nor respect it much. The almost trademarked mythic plot twists are here, but the narrator is unlikeable in a way that feels beyond the author´s intentions and some of the plot details feel clumsy.

I've heard a great deal about this legendary comedian, but it was good to finally hear about him from his daughter's perspective. Since she didn't quite grow up in his household, she got to view him as an outsider. But as a daughter, she got close enough to offer us both a objective and a subjective view of this faltered funnyman. I highly recommend this. Some great stories in this book.

This was my first Jodi Picoult book and now that I've read several of her works, I'd still say this one was my favorite.

This book was sooo long. I had a hard time getting into it because it started with evolution, which I obviously don't agree with. However, I did learn a lot and it was interesting to see which events they focused on. The original author died and a few chapters were added by another author and I found his style of writing to be more to my liking.

** spoiler alert ** This was a very interesting read. It was unique because it told the story of the holocaust from a unique perspective. My only criticism of the book was that I did not like how Sarah's voice was silenced with no explanation half way through the book. I though the story will have been richer if we were able to see more of it from Sarah's perspective. Her brother's death in the their hidding place was very touching. All in all, it was a very good read.
It will open your eyes to a pessimistic view of the world, and inspire you to hold on to the innocence of youth.

The only author I would ever want to narrate my showering ritual. Everyday.

Gone is the third and final book of the dreamcatcher saga. I feel it was the best out of the three book, but the style of the writing seemed a little different. I wasn't really expected what was going to happen in this book, but once you start going the book becomes very predictable. I would recommend this book to those who like easy-reads. I'm glad that I am through the whole sequence of these books. The book wasn't very thought provoking and I wouldn't read it a second time. I feel it's a really simple book. It's a very quick read. All in all i liked the book to an extent, but it could be better.
