Actually couldn't finish this book, because it was so depressing. Reviews the treatment of Africans in the US - and their descendents - from earliest colonial days to the present. Prepare to be shocked and amazed at the cruelty, disdain, and hypocrisy of white "physicians" and their slave-owner friends, but perhaps even more shocked by present-day researchers who have abused both the trust and the bodies of people they deem less than they. Made me very ashamed to be white, actually.

I enjoyed this easy-read book of three southern sisters living in Georgia & the difficult relationship they have communicating with each other. The title "Friday's Daughter" is taken from the nursery rhythm, Friday's Child-loving & giving. I love any book that has great charcter development & is charcter driven. I loved the intorduction of cherokee history by Tobias & how their relationship begins. Teensie is a great nurse and has taken care of her family so long she doesnj't even realize she is missing a part in her own life. The judge was a wonderful surprise for the small part he played in the book. After reading this book I'm going to check out some of her other books.

The brilliant buildup of the Four Horsemen’s Legends grabs you from the get go but with the interaction between the underground world and human world the story will have you glued to the pages anticipating each sentence as each scene and event unravels the exciting action packed chaos and glorified disasters. Just when you thought nothing could get worse in the current situation of the scene, it does as Pestilence (Reseph) with the help of Satan always seem to get the upper hand causing the barrier between the underworld and the human world to thin and release more evil upon the crumbling earth. The romance is bitter sweet as it wraps around Limos (Famine Horseman) and Arik (Human). Their relationship is one that starts out doomed before it is even started but through many up and downs of the lies, deceit, and epic battles of survival they seem to beat the odds at every twist and turn leaving the reader rooting the characters on to victory of reaching that final lustful climax. One thing for sure, this story captivates you immediately because of all the strife and suffering the two love birds go through (Hell) just to be together. The erotic scenes are teasingly hot, guaranteed to make your nipples hard and ready for some action of your own especially after the 69 position between Limos and Arik. Overall, I can say throughout this whole book as it kept me on the edge of my seat while experiencing several emotions. I felt excitement with all the battles of small victories, anger towards Pestilence, awed by the sweet moments between Arik and Limos, WTF moments with what the fallen angel Harvester did to Reaver and his wings, FREAKING “A” moments when Arik & Limos found a way to break the chastity belt, laughed because of the new powers Arik now has after being vamped by Pestilence and soul raped by Than’s destruction, and last but least I about cried when Than’s seduction by Regan is against his will. EXCELLENT READ!

I think this book was kind of boring and I expected more from it but I really liked the messages it got across. I like how it was a scientific fiction book mixed with the struggles of a poor boy reaching out into his dreams. I thought this only happens to some people but it makes me learn that there are several things we have to go through to reach our "Personal Legend". Well even though I found it kind of boring I think it was okay and worth reading.
