Finally finished this quick read but it really had no appeal to me until the last few chapters. The story started off without any tips or clues as to where it left off in Matched. It took me 1/4 of through book to remember who Ky and Cassia were and where their path let them at the end of book one. Hope fully she can take some hints from the readers this book lacked so much. I'm not sure I will wait impatiently for the third book. hopefully she can revive this trilogy and work out the kinks. It sure had potential for another wonderful dystopian y/a book but right now just a waste odf time.

This book made me cry. I absolutely loved it, even though it contains so much sadness and loss. Each of the characters were built up in such a way that you couldn't help falling in love with them. Having Death be the narrator was a stroke of brilliance. How else to have someone who could tell the story so completely and who better to be chosen as the outside observer? Death, of course, would have been everywhere during this time in history. I have to say reading about WWII and the Holocaust from the story of a German girl was different. I don't think I've ever read a book telling the story from that point of view. It's pretty rare for someone to write a book viewing the war from inside Nazi Germany. This book touched and moved me. One of the reviews on the back cover states that this book "deserves a place on the same shelf with The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank." and I'd have to say I agree. While it may be fiction, it brings a whole new light on WWII and the Holocaust, showcasing that not all of the people were on the bandwagon with Hitler. It shows that the German people weren't all horrible human beings and wanting the Jews dead. It is an essential piece of literature for young people as well as adults to read. I could see using this book as part of a WWII/Holocaust unit. I recommend it for everyone to read.

What a refreshing book. My first experience with this author and I will be reading her again. The characters were fleshed out, the story held my attention and I was kept guessing who the villian might be until the last. Although there was romance in this book there was no bed-hopping which never really adds to any story line.

First read in March 2011 I really enjoyed this story! I can definitely recommend it, but I would have loved an epilogue! I've decided I need to reread this one, so here it goes. Update, I have decided to rate it higher a 4.45* for sure, but the ending still feels a bit rushed or incomplete. Jake was a great sports talent, unfortunately his body took a beating with all the sports and surgeries and now he is a coach at his old highschool and in constant pain from all the abuse his body took over the years. Brandon was a homeschooled nerd, that didn't start public school until he was a sophomore, he still feels socially inept and unsure around some people, jocks like Jake especially, and Jake feels a bit dim around guys like Brandon. They both had insecurities and they were both lusting after the other but sure they didn't stand a chance. Well, guess what? They certainly did stand a chance and it's the start of a great relationship. I actually liked that there is no big reveal and outing, no huge statement to make, they know if it comes out there will be difficulties but they are sure they are going to stick it it together. Misty the slightly stalker annoying hanger-on of Jake, was annoying and left a wild card at the end. I really liked this feel good story and still feel it needs a follow -up. :) ETA I bought it as an audiobook and am listening to it today! I like it, the narrator has a very nice voice.

Sometimes I go searching for a book, but this one found me. It was the name of the wicked step mother, Oonagh, that pushed me into buying it. I could see that it was fantasy, which is not usually my genre, but the Celtic basis for the characters tempted the historian in me. This book is set in Ireland and England in the ninth century, and is based on a fairy tale that I have loved since childhood. I am not going to say which one, but you'll figure it out once you get into the book. The novelisation of fairy tales has been an idea that appealed to me, and I find it even more interesting after reading this novel. I am not much of a series reader, but I will be searching out the next one in this series.

I've really enjoyed this series about the Wilder brothers and am sorry that its come to an end. Instant Temptation is TJ's story, the eldest of the three very sexy brothers. I can't quite decide if I enjoyed TJ's or Cam's story the most, I thoroughly recommend you read them all!
