This book is an interesting story of what might happen to a teenager in a modern-day war. One of my favorite lines in the book was, "If you haven't been in a war and are wondering how long it takes to get used to losing everything you think you need or love, I can tell you the answer is No time at all." This is the story of how war changed Daisy's life. The cousin relationship in this book is disturbing to say the least, but the wittiness of the narrator's voice is hysterical. Her dry humor is what makes the story. Beware of the writing style though: I was annoyed by the long, rambly sentences, even though it fits with Daisy's personality and teenage thought pattern.

Alright this is the 2nd book by Lisa Kleypas that I have read. The first one was the Christmas Harbor book which did have a sex scene but I considered it on the mild side. But I enjoyed that story and thought I would try another one by her. This was available at the library so I picked it up. I guess I should have been aware of its content by the title or by the picture but I hoped it would be cleaner then it was. Even if you skip those parts I didn't really care for the whole plot. It wasn't very exciting. From reading the description of the book and the beginning of the book with the 3 previous "Ramsey's" or those who held that position dying suddenly I thought there would be more mystery. Of course it is left with some things opened to lead to a sequel.

I absolutely loved this book, even preferred it to The Other Boleyn Girl. I thought it was fantastic how Gregory alternated between the voices of three very different women, and as always with her books I felt like I was truly getting to know these famous historical figures.

I read this book absolute ages ago - probably whenever it first came out. I liked it so much that I bought his next book, Straight Man, but it took me ages to finish. Surely Empire Falls is his best piece - in my estimation, anyway! I encourage you to check it out for an easy, enjoyable, relaxing read. It's not all happy go-lucky, but it is a good read.

Considering I got this for free, I can't say I paid too much for it, however the half hour it took to read could have been spent doing so many other things. I was going to write horrible mean things because I felt it was appropriate since I only gave it one star, but it wasn't a complete and total waste of digital paper. The story actually had a decent base. The murdered girlfriend haunting her murderous boyfriend trying to find her body. That's got funny potential. Private eyes and gay neighbors. Yep, ingredients of comedy. What? The gays are kind of straight and the straight guy is kind gay....ahhh right free book written by a girl with a Yaoi fetish who wants her boyfriend to be a little more open. That's cool. Not my thing, but hey, it's memorable. So, why does the book get only one star? Every character was totally and entirely flat. And with all the comic gold potential the almost 100 page book barely got me to crack a smile. There was mystery with no clues or suspense. It was mystery which only ended when a character just told us the answer. Despite the potential of the story, Kramer failed to capitalize on it entirely. The idea behind the book could be fun. Not five star amazing literature good, but a solid fun read. However, it was a bare bones story. It wasn't fleshed out. Even the planned parts lacked definition. The book needed more. More of each character, more character motivation, more plot, more description, and just more work. This is the only one star book that I've ever read that hasn't entirely caused me to write an author off. Kramer's idea was good enough that I may look at some of her other books. As long as their very inexpensive and not ripped too hard on here, I may pick one up and hope she's learned some lessons as a writer.

I haven't read anything from this other until receiving Blood Of My Brother for review. Blood Of My Brother is actually the authors second novel. When I read the description on the book it sounded like a novel that I would enjoy. I love a good murder mystery, action packed book. I really enjoyed this book from the beginning to the end. The book had a great story line that pulls you in right from the start and keeps a hold of you tell the end. The characters in the story were easy to get to know and follow... Jay stopped at nothing to get Dan his best friend the justice he deserves. *I was provided a complementary copy of Blood of My Brother by the Author James LePore from an opportunity of Pump Up Your Book. I am an honest reviewer. My reviews are written by me and are based on my own opinion (I'm not a review expert).

"To Kill a Mockingbird" had a joyful and sorrow ending. Jem and Scout, who were siblings, were living happily. But when their father, Atticus who was a lawyer, was appointed to defend a back person, their nightmare started. Many problems occurred around these three main characters. The author, Harper Lee had told us clearly about racism and friendship through this exicting and touching story. When I was reading this book, I could feel the events happening right in front of me. This book is one of my favourite classics. I had read this book twice and I still want to read it again. I would like to recommend this book to everyone. I believe that the readers will love this book!
