Really good. I love me some retellings of fairy tales. I especially liked that she made him all middle-easterny. Napoli can write pretty well, when she's not being all preoccupied with her high horse.

I was surprised at how little I believed the motivations of the characters. The unusual, bizzare plot kept me reading, but I didn't really care about the characters. Additionally, I didn't understand why many of the characters acted as they did. The main character's transformational scene seemed intended to shock rather than honestly convey why a person would change their entire direction and approach to life.

I love to look at this book and read the stories and anecdotes--it tells a lot about celebrations in and around Louisiana. The recipes are good, too...a few of them are more time consuming than I'm willing to try, but what I have used are excellent.

I don't watch much TV, so I'm not as well versed with Anderson Cooper's show on CNN, but this book was recommended by a few people, and I'm glad I read it. It's not just an examination of what he's done most recently, it's an open window to look inside and see what Anderson Cooper is really like. I enjoyed reading more about his family and his thoughts on what has happened to him over the years, as well as a more in depth commentary about what devistation was in Southeast Asia after the Tsunami, Niger and the South after Katrina and Rita. And last but not least, was I the only one that didn't know his mother was Gloria Vanderbilt?

Stephen King recommended author. King says: "Gaiman is, simply put, a treasure-house of story, and we are lucky to have him in any medium." A pleasant fairy tale for adults that doesn't stretch the brain too much. Gaiman's other books are a lot better, though.
