About 100 pgs into the Essays section, and I'm thoroughly impressed with Jeff Wall's knowledge and application of art history. I've already been turned on to 3 artists that I knew very little about. The most mindblowing bit so far though is Wall's analogy of vampiricism used to examine the phenomenon of the occupant of the glass house. I'll be adding to this as I go along, I'm sure.

I found this book to be a really good page turner. I read it before the movie came out and I'm glad I did. I would recommend reading Angels and Demons first, although you really don't have to.

I rarely give books a five star review...my typical is a 4. This book made me consider breaking that trend. This book is both inspiring, entertaining, and a cute read. I loved this book. A cute read with an ulifting message. It's a clean read too which I always enjoy.

Read this book a couple of years ago not really know much about the Bataan Death March. Fascinating and horrifying book that detailed the survival of one group abandoned by their country to the hands of the Japanese that imprisoned and tortured them.

There's a little too much of the "follow the money" for my taste. He provides more than enough financial evidence to establish the link between the Saudi royal family and the US ruling elite but then keeps hammering that point. Maybe that was necessary but I found a little bit boring to read example after example of Saudi oil money buying influence. Still, though, a necessary book.
The book that turned me into a pacifist. The entire story is told from the perspective of a soldier who is trapped inside of his own body after a landmine blows off his eyes, nose, lips, ears, arms and legs. More frightening than anything Stephan King could ever come up with.

i have not read anything else by this author, but she is quite prolific. ellen is a single mother of a young boy she adopted, will. ellen receives a white card in the mail, like so many of us, that asks: "have you seen this child?" the child in the photo bares an uncanny resemblance to her son. and so begins her journey to solve the mystery of the origins of her son. each chapter ends with a cliffhanger and the action keeps pushing forward. the epilogue is a bit too tidy, but so it goes with such twists and turns.
