Thought this book was hilarious. And as a theatre educator I thought the parts about improvisation was useful for my classroom. Double win.

I remember I enjoyed this series a great deal when I was an early teen. I also remember that as the series went on it got darker, weirder and a little pervier.

I learned that you can whine your way into a publishing deal if you know the right people in New York City. I wish I could give it half a star. It was entertaining at times but mainly I just wanted him to stop talking.

I enjoyed this murder mystery. Odelia Grey is a great character. I loved that she is plus sized. I felt that Sue Ann Jaffarian had the insecurities of a plus size woman down pat. Even though I figured out who down it halfway into the book; I still was not sure until the end. There are alot of suspects that I was left wondering to the end. I loved this positive role model for women of any size and of any age. I have the next book in this series on order at the libray and I can't wait to get.

I had recently read a book by this author and thought I'd try this one. I liked it in the beginning. When I got to the middle I almost stopped reading it, but by the end, it was better than I thought it would be. I know, high praise indeed. But at least I didn't hate it.
This series continues to be a solid read. It's not the best, but it a charm all it's own. Oh, and I'm officially in love with Eric.

The best thing about the Memphis airport? They sell used books. Why don’t ALL airports do this? Anyway, this was a book that I got there, because my flight was delayed and I needed a quick laugh. Sedaris’ opening essay, about working as a Macy’s elf at Christmas, certainly delivered—and we’re talking the usual, must-bite-lip-and-not-appear-psycho-to-strangers kind of laugh-inducement here. Unfortunately, Sedaris is a much better essayist than he is a short story writer; the pieces of fiction that share the volume were much too obvious, totally without the subtlety his non-fiction possesses. If you’re not stuck in an airport, I’d recommend reading the first essay in this volume in the store, then picking up one of Sedaris’ longer, richer, better books.
Yes, I know, another SW:EU novel. But they're a special brand of crack, and it's fun revisiting the things I was so thoroughly addicted to in 1996/97. This is probably one of, if not the best, novel which has been written in the Star Wars extended universe. Like all the rest of the EU novels, this is really just glorified fanfiction, a fictional romp through the history which the films don't cover; however, it's one of the better examples of the genre. The storyline rollicks along, the characterisation is solid, and the villains suitably boo-hissable. Every now and then, there are a few uses of metaphor and simile which made me wince (the planet hung in space like a cloud-veiled turquoise?), but on the whole it's much, much better than the average Star Wars novel. The one place where Tyers really helps elevate the novel above the ordinary is the fact that she actually has her characters think, behave and feel in ways that are psychologically believable. Leia has huge problems with Vader being her father, while Luke's coming to terms with the fact that he's now the only Jedi in the galaxy (well, as far as he knows, plot devices in later devices notwithstanding, etc). Tyers even works some side-effects from Luke's duel with the emperor at the end of RotJ (because you know those lightning bolts couldn't have been good for Luke's health. On the whole, it's the novel version of a popcorn movie - fun but largely forgettable, and probably not worth getting if you don't have at least a strong liking for the characters in the first place.

Couldn't even get through it. Character and plot development way to slow.
