Silent on the Moor is the third book in the Lady Julia Grey series. Mystery and romance continue in a vivid Victorian setting. Deanna Raybourn draws great characters in Julia and Nicholas Brisbane and I enjoyed every minute of reading this book. She has a true gift of making the English countryside come alive. The mystery that unfolds in the Grimsgrave house provides insights into the character of Brisbane. Fans must check out her website. It is going to be hard to wait for the fourth book in this series.

Post-Apocalyptic look at the survivors of the new flood: patients, doctors and angels in a floating Children's Hospital. Patient readers only. (Patience as in the virtue, not the person in a hospital.)

Along with 1984 and Illuminatus, top on my list of the books that make me want to move the hell away from here.

Depressive Post-WWII Jewish refugee can't exercise free will, has three mistresses, life gets harder and harder until doom suffocates him. Reading this ruins your week.
if only current presidents were so damn cool! theodore roosevelt was an unbelievably intelligent, courageous, determined man who proved his mettle AFTER his presidency on an uncharted river in the Amazon. (Full of horribly entertaining jungle details, too!)
the plot of this book was thrilling, but there were many dull moments.
