This was a really good read. I could not put it down at all, once I got to the habit of actually reading it frequently. The storyline and the plot had all the elements I need in a good book: suspence, build-up, and twists in the story that made me want to strangle some characters. While reading it, the book seemed to have come to life. Everything that happened, seemed as if I'm watching it happen around me. That's what's so gripping about it, that the setting and actions were vivid enough that it's as if it's your own experience. The story kept my hanging on the edge of my seat from when the rising action took place, all the way up to the climax. Till then, I held on to the book and kept reading, and refused to put it down until I found out what happens in the end. This really was one of the best books I've read so far.

I'm so glad I read the book instead of just seeing the movie. I loved the book. And beyond Andrea letting Miranda walk all over her, in the end she completely kept her dignity, in the movie, not so much.

This book has potential. The type of paranormal is not one that I remember reading before, and I think it could be really interesting. This one is very obviously the first in the series, so I'll forgive the heroine for not being totally in the game. Unlike a lot of other urban fantasy/paranormal books I've read, this one doesn't start with the protagonist having had a period of adjustment to their abilities. It makes for an interesting story but I wanted to shake her a couple of times.

While I've wanted to read a Bond book for probably eight years, I was not actually inspired to do so until I saw the new Casino Royale film. Reading this book after seeing the movie was actually quite enjoyable. Making the obvious comparisons between the two was probably what was most enjoyable about this book, although reading Fleming's actual words about Bond himself and the various people he comes into contact with was quite interesting.

I wish there was a way to give half-stars, because I think I would give this book three-and-a-half stars. The "voice" gets annoying after a while, and I couldn't figure out why every character sounded the same, but the plot is pretty engrossing and satisfying (it's the kind of book that could be described as "intricately" or "densely" plotted). Overall, enjoyable.
