Featured at An Abundance of Books Jaunty rhymes take us through the story of fifteen circus animals who were abandoned by Mr. Paine, the circus owner, during the sinking of their ship. They swim through the night and finally make it to an island just before dawn. The exhausted animals wandered throughout the village looking for a place to rest (or some daisies to munch on). Unfortunately the poor villagers didn't know what to make of the tiger in the tulips, the python in the pantry, or the monkey swinging from the laundry line. Eventually the village and the animals band together to stop the selfish circus boss from taking back his animals. Wonderfully detailed illustrations and a neat story add up to a book that's great for family time. Read full review HERE

The story of Easy Company told through another voice. Not quite as in depth as Dick Winters autobiography but still nice to hear some new stories. It amazes me still that this group of guys were able to make it through the Battle of the Bulge as well as they did. Granted they probably couldn't forget it either. Very easy reading for a quick read, read it in a day. Would recommend it to those who want to complete their library of easy company soldiers.

Ugh. Don't bother. I don't really want to seek life advice from a woman who says you shouldn't let in-laws stay at your house or visit for more than 5 hours at a stretch. As a mother to daughters, I was intrigued about what a mature woman has learned during her lifetime and wants to make sure she passes on her wisdom to her daughter, but this book didn't do it for me. The good stuff is all common sense and the bad stuff - maybe she has loopy in-laws and should write a book on how to get along with them but I don't want to be constrained by her bad family relationships.
