i first discovered daniel mark epstein because jonathan carroll quotes him a lot. and he always uses him really effectively, and the quotes, when isolated, have a real atmosphere of creepiness and delicate phrasings and are terribly haunting. and ive now read three of his books and not been able to find this reflected in the poems. they are okay, but this one is mostly about flowers and nature and musing under trees...im not really strong on poems to begin with, but im going to keep reading his books until i find the "right" daniel mark epstein book for me.

This book was my introduction to Chuck Palahnuik. Seeing movies based off of his book is a totally different experience then actually reading them. In Lullaby you're taken along for this crazy ride, all revolving around a simple verse. While the stream of consciousness style of writing might be hard to keep up with at first, it's really one of the things that makes the book. This is one of those books that you can't stop thinking about days after reading it.

** spoiler alert ** I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Finished it in less than a week. A definite page turner but might not be for all Patterson fans. It's really out there with its content being about aliens and stuff, but still a page turner.
I'm sticking with a solid 3 1/2 stars on this one. I wanted to give it 4 stars, but the beginning drove me crazy with all of the foreshadowing and foretelling. I understand that the narrator was telling the story as a memoir, but it took a while to understand who he was telling his story to, and to weave together all of the fragments later on. I understood the reason behind it, but I felt it was a bit too much. Overall, the story was very engaging and interesting. I hadn't known that Ireland was neutral during WW2. I had mixed feelings about how the story was resolved...but I won't give it away to future readers. I enjoy this author, his characters, and writing style. P.S. My edition was an "Advance Uncorrected Proof" sent to me through Goodreads...how awesome is that?! I did find some errors (couldn't stop the "closet" editor in me), in case anyone cares: a line on pg. 187 needs a question mark; a line on pg. 247 needs a "to" inserted; a line on pg. 345 needs a question mark; and a comma is needed on pg. 367.
A practice in alliteration. Cute bubble baby.

Telling the Truth (Truth or Dare book 2) by Lee Brazil * I received a copy of this book from Breathless Press in exchange for an honest review* During a house warming party at his brother Mischa’s house, Terry spots Dex and Trick over in the corner. It is the hottest thing he has ever seen and he is more than a little turned on by it. After dancing around the twins for six months he decides that it’s time to make them his. After coming out to his brother’s during their weekly card came. Little did he know, he is the selected target for their new Truth or Dare game? It was harder than he thought it was going to be but all he saw was acceptance in Mischa and Dan’s faces. Now he just needs to convince the twins that he wants a life with them and he will take care of them, no matter what’s in their past. This book is Terry’s journey to discover who he really is. He hasn’t been happy with his current life for awhile. He has always done what his older brother Brandon wanted him to do, including the way he dresses, what he majored in at school, etc. Mischa gave him the courage to follow his heart and it led him to Dex and Trick. The three of them are so hot and sexy together. It is easy for the reader to see that there is so much more to their relationship than just sex. The tenderness was evident in the little touches and caresses. I felt so bad for the twins after their run in with Brandon, I kept waiting on Terry to come out of his room and step in. In the end his family rallied around them and supported Terry and the twins in their new life. Overall I really liked this story. There was so much love and tenderness shared between the trio. I can’t wait to read Brandon’s story next. This is a fabulous series that will appeal to many different people. I give Telling the Truth 4 Flaming Hearts.
This novel is not only cleverly plotted and told, but also surprisingly moving. It brings to mind his play Copenhagen.

Breaks down the importance of trust, vulnerability, accountability and attention to goals in a fabled corporate setting. Premise is that conflict around ideas, not personalities, is a healthy part of true intimacy.

Good, if overly constructed. Coben does know how to keep the tale moving -- lots of subplots.
