So incredibly sad. I wish the best for her and her family.

Oh, Anderson, how do I love thee. And I love you even more after reading this book. This is not a straight memoir, but weaves pieces of Cooper's life in with accounts of big stories he covered in 2005: the tsunami, Iraq, hurricane Katrina... Well written and a quick read, very honest about what drives Cooper to cover stories all over the globe and what his reactions are to events that we all see on tv.

Does this book really have to be quite as boring as it is?

** spoiler alert ** One of my favourite novels of all time! I used to have Teddy's climactic proposition memorised, narration-y bits (i.e. 'he said...') and all. I think I still remember most of it actually. "Don't tell me you can't love me. You can. You must. Why Emily," (blah blah Teddy had just caught her expression in the moonlight or something). "You do." So perfect! And it's odd, reading other reviews, I see that this one depressed a lot of people. I'm sure that parts of it upset me when I first read it (that whole Ilse-Teddy thing comes to mind...and the awkward Dean-jilting...) but the end made me deliriously happy and still does. All that crap she went through just made her hard-earned happy ending all the more satisfying. I love Anne, but Emily means a lot more to me. Maybe it's because this series really cultivated the writer in me? I don't know. I guess I just relate more to Emily. She's a lot less wholesome than Anne.
I thought I have read this one already, since I marked it as read in 2007. I read the abridged version, the short story version. And today I read the full version.

Good resource for those who would like to learn more Latin language counterparts to the Mass ~ given that the OMV celebrate Mass in Latin on Tuesdays and Thursdays here in Boston (during the school year), this is a great resource to follow along.
This book is a fascinating and well-written take on Cinderella. I loved the details about China interwoven throughout the plot.
This book is from the Nightworld Series, volume 2. It's not one of my favorite series by a long shot, but keeps me interested enough to read. It's all about the nightworld (vampires, shapeshifters, witches) that fall in love with mortals thru the soulmate principle.
This series gets better and better. It has love, humor, suspense and all that keeps you on the edge of your seat not wanting to put the book down. The end shocked me and brought tears to my eyes.

The idea of this book is actually pretty good, when everything is controlled, who you matched with, and when to die. What would you do when it turns out to be something that you don't want anymore. Problem is, the idea is not well-developed, Cassia is the main character but I don't feel connected with her. It's badly written and ...... FLAT!!!
