Didn't like the story at all. The hero was having way too much of a pity party & the heroine...well, she was worst.

Interesting read about the Spanish conquering Chile and a very independent woman.

Not my favorite. Sorry. I got sick of the main character always whining.
Despite the absolutely awful cover art for this book, the writing itself is wonderful. The narrative focuses on the "story" of Sylvia (it is true, so it's not really a story, since it's her life), who is one part normal twenty-something girl, one-part sad mental health patient, and one part Little Edie (guess which parts are the most entertaining to read.) However, Sheehan (who was a reporter when she undertook the writing of the book), also writes about the hospital Sylvia spends most of her time in, the medications she is prescribed, and the various treatments she is subjected to. Since this is all taking place in the seventies, a lot of the standard mental health care seems positively stone age. Equally disturbing is the public opinion and misconception of mental illness, which Sylvia feels acutely. I would like a follow-up, as Sylvia. . . uh oh. Have to work.
Traces the life of patriot Samuel Adams, who was involved in nearly every event that led up to the war.

Fun book! It made me want to learn a little more about cooking; or at least take a cooking class. This book is basically about a cooking class that meets once a week. With few exceptions the author introduces you to each person at the cooking class one chapter at a time. Bauermeister does a wonderful job of adding each character's story at just the right time; each character adding their "flavor" and making the book simply wonderful. Bauermeister was masterful in her descriptions of aroma's and textures. The whole book felt like food poetry (if that is possible). It would have been too much for any other book - but it worked well for this one. Very creative and well done!

It took me five years to finish it due to the imbalance of good and mediocre stories.

I can't wait until this book comes out, when shadow kiss ended i feelt
First i was actually surprised when i heard the title of the book i,e WHO MOVED MY CHEESE?. Then when i started studying the book i was really amazed the author has thought us a good lesson very easily. that too in a playful manner. All the four characters were very interesting. From this lesson i have learnt that not to postpone any things and to do that then and there. Thanks to the author.(and my coach too :-) )
