This book is for a very specific audience, but since I fit into that target audience, I could relate easily to the characters. What I loved most was the deep look at relationships... I just don't think I should have read it postpartum and so soon after my mom beginning cancer remission.

Uuuum... yeeeeah... I was bored. I found the book in my room. I started to read it. And it became the first (out of what would eventually become several. I'm getting more cynical in my old age) books that I stopped and refused to finish. As a blissfully oblivious book-reader, I had never come upon a book I disliked enough to stop reading, and this one has the honor of being the first. Maybe I missed something (this website's average rating is 3.5-something) but something tells me I didn't. Ah well. First time for everything.

DID NOT FINISH. I read 100 pages and it was a slog. I love Simon Pegg, but... other books were more interesting. Months later, I haven't returned to it. I wish he seemed at all interested in actually telling his story. Instead, every other chapter is a fictional tale, and the real-life stuff is disjointed, full of just-kiddings, and not particularly illuminating. After talking to Jer, who read the whole thing, I think I won't bother finishing, as he says those problems persist.

I didn't expect to enjoy this book so it was a wonderful surprise when I discovered that the content had much to say about friendship among women. It was well written and avoids the trap of sentimentality over reality.
